But at the point that he interferes with the keeper he’s not offside, because it’s directly from the corner. He only becomes offside once Stones heads it. And they clearly didn’t think the interference was worthy of a free kick on its own.

I’m ok with that being given.

Looking increasingly like Southampton, Ipswich and one of Leicester, Wolves and Palace to go down. West Ham have got too much quality and Everton (and Dyche) always find a way.

Still think Leicester are the most likely - after Brighton away this weekend Wolves had got a run of 8 that they will surely start to pick up points and move up the league. Palace I'm more worried for after last night - they need to sort out Wharton and Mateta and get Nketiah scoring and seem far too reliant on Eze to do something amazing.

    Moyes would keep Palace up.

Leicester are well above where their performances suggest, but that’s football. Can they spawn it over a whole season? Maybe. I can’t recall leaving any game when we stayed up first season thinking we’d bossed it and not rode our luck.

Leicester at home was probably the closest.

    The third miracle of Coops?

Yep, there is a chance of course that this Cooper fella might just know what he's doing.

Stay off foxestalk with that kind of heresy.

They must have come around to him by now no? They're not in the bottom 3. That's got to be the main aim.

My Lestoh-supporting mate was saying there is still a massive entitlement issue with a lot of supporters - no doubt the ones who became more interested around 2016 onwards. They genuinely think that 17th place this season is beneath them, in both a figurative and literal sense.

For me, when you come up (and especially in their case with a demonstrably weaker squad than went down - relying solely on the goals of a striker who turns 38 in a couple of months) the aim is simply to survive. Not sure many at the Crisp Bowl agree.

But the main thing is the Forest connection. It's too much to take that their current manager had such obvious (and recent) success up the A46.

I'm going on Friday. Half looking forward to singing Stevie Cooper songs and winding them all up, but also aware that if we win and those songs are loud then it could be the end for him.

My dad is a Fosse fan, he is firmly of the view that their squad is better than the one that was relegated

Happy to defer to his judgment obviously and can only look in from the outside, but Vardy is two years older and they've lost Maddison, Tielemans, Barnes, Dewsbury-Hall (from the promotion team) and Iheanacho. I'm struggling to see how the current squad is close to two years ago.

Perhaps he means that some of them can actually be arsed this season?

The guy on loan from Brighton looks like he might be a decent player.

There is a growing frustration over Cooper's team selection apparently, especially around the continued absence of Ricardo and Fatawu.

I had to look up both of those players as I had no idea who they were.

I wouldn't, he is clearly wrong as I have told him many times.
