I've had it once before to my knowledge, right at the start of the pandemic in 2020, so any immunity I had either from that or the three subsequent vaccine jabs would be long gone. I think I'm lucky not to have bumped into it before now as both Mrs BW and Little Miss BW have had it a couple of times.

In terms of work, I was off all last week so felt I ought to be back on Monday. I'm also lucky that WFH is a possibility for me - it's clearly not for everyone.

Went to get my hearing checked the other week as I’ve had tinnitus for the last few months.
It’s much worse (there’s significantly more hearing loss) in my left ear. As I can’t point to a specific reason for this (gunshot, firework or similar, all plausible in my life but no single event I can point to), this is, apparently super rare.
I now have to get an MRI as it’s so rare to have loss and tinnitus this pronounced in one ear, it’s possible I have a tumor.

This and my heart stuff (on top of my run of the mill anxiety, depression, and insecurity) is really making this a banner summer, I can tell you.

Isn't Tinnitus actually very common as we get older? Sure I read that recently as I've been getting a bit of it too.

I have had Tinnitus on and off my whole life. It isn't necessarily about hearing loss. Lots of factors to that.

Either way it's fucking annoying. The Good news is that it can go just as quickly as it comes so you should be okay in that regards unless something violent happened around your ears.

    Chicago: Hearing you.

Got a bit concerned reading this again, but just realised there's a car alarm going off outside. Least I think there is.

Move out of Florida. You will feel better.

    Chicago: full of sage advice.

It's the one ear tinnitus that's a concern I think

This. It’s there in the other ear but nowhere near as prevalent and the hearing loss on the left is markedly more pronounced. That’s the concern from the ENT.

Got x-ray results back on my knee today.
Told I now have severe arthritis on the inside of my left knee, arthritis on the outside of the knee and the start of arthritis behind the knee cap. All of which is significantly worse than my last x-ray.
After previously being told, approx three years ago, that they didn't want to do a knee replacement as I was too young, it's looking like that is the only option.
Onto the NHS waiting list I go.

    Bloody football!

Hope the wait isn't too long, and they get you back pain free, and operating in a mode of functionality.

I was jogging up some steps yesterday and had a pain in my lower back, similar to what laid me up a couple of years ago. Serves me right for being a fattie probably.
Back on the lumbar disc herniation stretches I suppose.

COVID. So much snot it keeps waking me up so can't sleep for a couple of hours at best.

Sorry to hear that. It's weird how it affects people so differently. When I had it a month ago, I had no cough, no fever, no snotty cold-type symptoms. Instead, I had a vile sore throat, extreme fatigue, body aches and nausea.

I still have the body aches and fatigue more than five weeks on. It's a fucking horrible virus.

This one seems to have hit me the hardest in terms of length of feeling exhausted and cough - I had it a month or so ago and only just feeling right again.

    Nothing terrible, just tired

To clarify, I have the vile sore throat and, as a trump card, ear ache as well.
Really would like some more sleep

Only Tricky will probably give one Scintilla of a fuck but my Mum had the diagnosis of two burst ulcers that occurred when she was visiting. This explains the hemorrhaging. This is actually a good thing as it can be treated with antibiotics and that it was the best case scenario all things considered.

The colon blockage was scar tissue. We hope it is from a previous surgery (appendix was removed when she was younger) because if it isn't then it's almost certainly cancer. She having a colonoscopy to look around next week. So far so good, but the gal looks to be around a little longer.

As for Covid, it's pretty rampant around here but I have yet to get it (as far as I know), because I still wear masks at work. It's simple really, contrary to Simon's assertions that I am living in some hyperbolic internet reality, I cannot take time off due to the amount of money I have had to borrow for house stuff. Also, I prefer not to infect anyone (especially the older clients and the auto immune compromised ones too, of which I have a few)).

I still have two friends with long Covid which is remarkable really as they were the fittest people I have ever known. Don't want to ever find out.

Knees are baskets though, so Jeff I sympathize as I know it's a cnut.

Chicago: Still not getting that inheritance.
