Sorry to hear about the panic attack malarkey and trust you're now over that one.
Nice to hear the NHS are now operating a trade-in service. Panic attack in return for a covid infection seems reasonable as long as it's not a severe dose.
What do you get for foot-knack? If it's something not terminal I could be interested.

Had an EKG and ultrasound on my heart this morning. “Can’t give a full diagnosis, obviously, but it doesn’t seem like anything crazy or catastrophic.” Hooray for at least that much.

Will know more in late July.

Still testing positive eleven days on. I think this highlights how important vaccination is - despite what the nutters say. I've been lucky not to bump into Covid for four years, so was always likely to be hit quite hard.

Spent this morning in a clinic in Leganas with Mrs Less. Another mosquito bite that has gone bad and she needed a drip and antibiotics.

2 holidays now. So now we are sitting in the room.

I've told her I'm going on my own next year.

They might start coming for you if you do.

I recommend that you keep bringing along the decoy bait.

Hope all is well but even a dodgy result doesn’t mean you necessarily need to start looking over your shoulder for Charlie.

I had a regularly irregular heartbeat for around four years without any real problems. They initially tried beta blockers, no positive impact, they stopped them after I nearly fell down stairs due to being so dizzy.

Ironically Covid seems to have solved it. Stopped commuting and flying every couple of weeks and when I had a check up at the end of the year it was back to normal.

One amusing incident came when I was in our gp surgery, my heartbeat is naturally slow (typically around 47 bpm) and the machine they used for bp and pulse was missing every third beat due to the arrhythmia so they measured ca. 30bpm and refused to allow me to leave the surgery. After about thirty minutes they found someone who could measure it manually and realised that what I was telling them was going on was true.

Had an old man health check yesterday. Cholesterol was a bit high. Drink less. No shit. Aside from that, in pretty good shape, even BMI. ECG is next week.

Being feeling generally crap since Sunday, went to the Doc’s today, Covid strikes again.

Good news is that I should be ok to ride this weekend.

Covid has kicked my arse this time. First day back in the office after working from home all week, and I feel completely washed out by 10am. Depressing that the simple act of getting up at 6.30am and driving 20-odd miles seems to have fucked me like a train.

I tested negative on Monday morning and was hoping to feel better than this by now.

  • 28 Jun 2024, 10:19 a.m.

Sounds like a carbon copy of how I was a few weeks ago. I didnt test and had no other real symptoms other than utterly fucked.

  • 28 Jun 2024, 10:35 a.m.

You've not had it before right? It honestly takes a while to recover. Anecdotally and based on nothing more than my own theory, I think people who struggle with it longer term are those that try to rush back to normal life too soon. So if you still feel really crap, I think you should still be at home resting.

I've had it once before to my knowledge, right at the start of the pandemic in 2020, so any immunity I had either from that or the three subsequent vaccine jabs would be long gone. I think I'm lucky not to have bumped into it before now as both Mrs BW and Little Miss BW have had it a couple of times.

In terms of work, I was off all last week so felt I ought to be back on Monday. I'm also lucky that WFH is a possibility for me - it's clearly not for everyone.
