On the same staircase that tore my mother-in-laws hip joint from it's mooring I slipped on the shiny wooden surface and whacked my back. After initially seeing stars from the impact on my spine and I can safely say that the rule of not walking on the stairs in your socks is a good one. Bare feet or shoes from now on.
To be fair I had just woken up after something resembling a nice alcohol assisted sleep and was groggy. The fall made me Groggier. I think I am now eligible to start in the NFL.
I think I’ve had Norovirus as my arse has been running like a Severn Trent storm overflow since just before Christmas. Feel a bit better this morning though. Happy New Year!
The pain started last Friday after my second cup of black coffee with no food. It was a very stressful day with clients being arseholes, management trying to renege on a Xmas deal and the sheer volume of work. 26 people in one day. I got a severe stabbing pain in my stomach and it wouldn’t go away. I assumed Acid reflux as the black coffee Isn’t exactly gentle. The pain then was accompanied with a low grade fever so I assume Covid. Two negative tests later the pain had started moving to the back in waves. After going to urgent care as I started to suspect stones the doctor’s seem to think the same thing.
Awaiting the results of my urine test but it’s more likely that the kidney or gall bladder stones are in play. God I don’t feel great and the pain when it comes is a rolling stabbing pain. I do not recommend it. I am also reduced to drinking peppermint/ginger tea. Yipppeeee!
Doctor's appointment in 15 minutes to go through my latest blood work and learn whether 3 months of hardcore diet restrictions have brought my cholesterol and tryglycerides into the boundaries of acceptable or even good, or if I'm going to have to spend the rest of my life on statins.
Update: all markers have moved significantly in the direction we wanted them to, and are well below the threshold at which action (i.e. prescribing statins) would be required as long as I maintain this lifestyle. Biggest marker was the significant drop in liver enzymes, almost certainly the result of a massive reduction in alcohol consumption.
Could be worse. you could have committed suicide like a friend of mine just did. He moved to the country to get out of the big city, realised he didn’t like it and couldn’t get back.
Not really mundane for me, but Mrs Shady went to a clinic in London this morning to do some tests to try and get to the bottom of a long-running health issue that nobody can explain. During the tilt-test she fainted and her heart stopped for a few seconds. They've moved her to a room and are doing lots more tests now. I'm kinda shaking with nerves right now. Guess it's the adrenalin.
