Got a splinter in my hand yesterday while gardening. Little fucker was in quite deep so removed this morning with the old steamed-needle trick.
Slightly inflamed but seems to be calming down. Reckon I'll survive it.

Took a corner too fast in the rain this morning and came of my bike. Wheels went out from under me. Had a big coat and gloves on though which seem to have taken most of the impact. Just a few bruises and a bit shook up. Still made my train thankfully.
I’m on my way!
Have been losing weight. Because it was necessary. Very close to my target range now.
Last night I played on bibs, which hardly ever happens. Fash was dishing them out. "Sorry mate, I'd have got some bigger ones if I knew you were on our side".
Pulled it on no problem. Nice and roomy.
Saw the doctor again today. Last week's blood test revealed a very low vitamin D level. Hardly surprising given the time of year and the fact I barely left the house over the summer due to being ill. So that's another set of tablets on the menu. At least I'm off the anti-depressant I had been prescribed daily. Might celebrate with a glass of wine tonight. First alcohol since February. I'll probably be asleep before Have I Got News For You comes on. Sometimes I've missed drinking, sometimes I haven't. I did generally find it easier watching Forest on TV with a hangover though.
Do you do any movement?. Can you go for walks to get some air? I assume you have enough energy to do that correct? A bit of sun through the clouds and some leg stretching to get the blood pumping would do you a world of good. Sitting down all day for is hideously bad for you and even worse if you are struggling with illness. Of Course being a Forest fan right now isn't helping much either. Have you considered red light treatment? That might help with the body too.
Anyway back to work..
Chicago: Off to the dentist next week.
The Sarcoidosis chronic fatigue hit me hard over the summer and now the colder weather seems to be triggering my shakes. I've also had to go back to the chiropractor as I did something to my back though it's just about fixed now.
In short I know I don't do enough movement, but I've rather been snookered by something at every turn. What a cunt of a year. But I'll keep going. The plan is to start some gentle exercise bike work and maybe walk round the block if it ever stops fucking raining.
Sounds all a bit shit Rave. Good luck in your quest to keep on keeping on.
I take comfort in the fact that my original diagnosis was lymphoma, but I didn't ultimately have cancer. I also take comfort in the fact that I can't have anything else because I've had pretty much every test and scan going.
Good stuff Dave. Keep at it.
Regarding the comment about wine, I kind of think that might be best avoided to be honest. Hope to see you at a game some time soon. I might even pay up on that bet ....
PS: it's just water. Get out there.
You want me to get pneumonia as well? Monster.
You are more likely to get Pneumonia by not moving. Also if you are outside don't walk with your mouth open. And there are these things called umbrellas. A good friend of mine is currently fighting for his life in the hospital with Pneumonia. He had a bad fall as he has MS and stopped doing any movement for two weeks because he was afraid to go back to his routine and now is really struggling. They drained his lungs yesterday and is in intensive care. We think he is going to pull through but it's going to be a tough slog. So there is that.
Not trying to exercise shame you just saying the body needs to move to help with it's immunity system.
Either way, hope you are back to your sarcastic self soon so I can score past you at football with the one knee I have left.
Chicago: Hoping for the best.
Having lost 3 and a half stone I no longer fill the goal in quite the same way. I reckon even Forest could score past Dave Save these days.
I've lost a couple of stone...still hurtling in to challenges with big lads. Except I'm the one bouncing off these days!
Personally I'm happy that you are still around to have problems to address. It's been a shit experience, no doubt...but out the other side there will be positives fatty!
Figured. Why do you think I suggested it.
Chicago: Sneaky.
