In accounting terms you provide for that decision now, so it doesn't defer recognition even if payment is deferred.

Not if his contract still runs to 1 July surely, with the announcement made a few days before because it's getting ridiculous?

I don't do a lot of accounting anymore so rules may have changed, Lessred will know.

They are back at pre season training on Monday, so they could hardly delay any further. Maybe they've put his termination in the second class post to delay it until Tuesday.

Maybe left the stamp off and get him to pay when he collects it from the sitting office. Stamps are expensive these days.

Let's face it, if there's a way to cheat the system, Leicester will find it.

As you might imagine these things aren't simple, it will depend on whether it can be determined that there is a measurable liability determined at the balance sheet date (year end).

    For exciting icaew guidance....

Where an entity is making redundancy plans close to its balance sheet date, the position at the balance sheet date must be carefully assessed to determine whether the conditions are met or not at that time. For a redundancy provision to be recognised in the accounts, there must either be a legal or constructive obligation existing at the balance sheet date.

As a point of clarification it's not a redundancy is it?

No, but the rules on recognition of a liability is the same. That you have to be able to quantify it and it has to be probable that you will pay it.

I thought the guidance was applicable as the same type of considerations would be needed for an effective compromise agreement.

In this case you would think the criteria would be met, but I suppose it depends how definitive the contract is at the year end? It may just be a disclosure note.

    Whatevs.

I think a reasonable conclusion we can all draw at this point, nay, only reasonable conclusion, without being party to any facts regarding RvNs contract of employment is 'die club, die'.

Leicester were relegated on 20th April. As of now, nearly three months later, they don’t have a manager for next season.

Impressive how badly run they are.

Yesterday there was talk of them moving on to Martin Cifuentes, who apparently was QPR manager for a minute. It's starting to feel a bit like it's not the club turning the managers down, and perhaps a bit more the other way round.

    Didn't they have that before?

I can easily imagine any manager looking to have a career after their next job, might prefer to give Leicester a swerve. It's a very shitly run club, with certain points deductions, and not a pot to piss in.

Will die laughing if Pulis or Warnob pitch up there eventually.

Oh I forgot about the points deduction. What's going on with that? Such good entertainment.

I think they're both actually properly retired now. Also Pulis is a lovely man, don't want him to go there.

I thought they were about to get Gary O'Neil in? Which would be quite annoying.

I'm still holding out for Rooney personally.

Laugh? I'd shit a fucking organ.
