Yep, Cotterill has a great record in the bottom two divisions. I guess it’s a commercial decision? Savage, bigger name, brings in sponsors.

Sponsors aren’t much use in the long run if your team stays shit.

Savage has done OK as a manager at a lower level and all the way down there's a huge correlation between income and performance.

Brentford actually gave the job to Keith Andrews. I'm really surprised, he's never been a manager before.

It's a big job to stabilise things now, losing their manager, captain and pretty much all their goals is quite a shake up.

I'm one of the few who has a lot of time for what Brentford have done and the way they've done it, and (if I've remembered this right) I've quite liked Keith Andrews on the telly, I hope it goes well.

I'm full of admiration for Brentford's approach and achievements and I hope they get relegated with 12 points.

The Premier League next season has Burnley, Brentford and Bournemouth. They can all sod off to Division Three where their tin pot status will be appreciated. I hope they all get 12 points.

13 would be better. Then we could chirp the perennially irritating "unlucky for some".

To be fair he didn't really travel that far to the training ground everyday from his (I hope Leicester funded) NG2 gaff, and was probably WFH Mon to Friday after the first month anyway.

They must be slightly fooked on the pay-off front though, surely? Two Premier League contracts ripped up inside a year.

It was a ‘mutual agreement’ with RVN wheeled out today some nice words. So maybe payment has been deferred. If that is even allowed.

I thought maybe the delay was to push any payment beyond 30 June into next year's accounts. Maybe it's been announced but actual leaving date is 1 July.

In accounting terms you provide for that decision now, so it doesn't defer recognition even if payment is deferred.
