He's been involved there for a while hasn't, as a Director of Football or something. Mates with the owner and maybe even owns a bit of it himself.

He was offered a management job elsewhere apparently, which would have meant he had to quit his involvement with Macclesfield.
So to stop losing him, they offered him the top job!! -
Guardian says Leicester and Potter is close to being done. Pleased it's not Cooper.

Bit of a shame though. Potter seems an ok sort who could go on to do good things. I don’t want to be wishing for him to fail catastrophically at his next job, but if he leaves me no choice…

All of this is a bit of a blow for Cooper. He's 6th favourite for the England job after Southgate. I think that would be an excellent appointment in theory, but I can't see it happening.

As we said before, Leicester's squad is poor and Cooper - because of their lot's insane hatred of anything Forest-tainted - gets no honeymoon period. Hit the ground running or die.
I'm still hoping he's sat at home over Christmas with another nice pay-off in his pocket, having completed his Agent Cooper duties to perfection.
