The managerial merry-go-round

Dyche and Woan were living in Nottingham while managing Burnley. AFAIK they still are.

Dyche lives in the flats above Southbank, doesn't he? He's often seen around WB and I think he sometimes goes to the ex players coffee mornings on a Thursday.

Kevin Nolan is still in Nottingham (Lady Bay I think) and his son is in the forest academy.

Rumour is that Leicester may target Carlos Corberan if Maresca goes to Chelsea.

Wouldn't be a bad idea tbh. Though a bit of a punt given he's not managed in the PL (has he?). He's a pretty different style of manager. Often talked about as being excellent at organising teams with little possession - which might suit their PL return.

Ornstein reporting that McKenna is signing a long term contract with Ipswich. Which is by far the most sensible idea for all concerned, I think.

Well.... nearly. There was this big game at Wembley in which an outstanding display of extremely well judged and completely accurate and fair refereeing saw his opponents gain promotion. You may have caught that game in passing.

Leicester losing Maresca is, unfortunately, probably a net gain for them. They get some cash and lose a manager whose style wasn’t going to be suited to keeping them up any more than Kompany at Burnley.

Nearly doesn’t count. And getting promoted doesn’t guarantee managerial success in the premiership. I’m not sure many premier league clubs are looking at Paul Heckingbottom or Scott Parker.

Not sure Corberan has ripped it up since then although has done well with West Brom after his 6-week stint at our Greek cousins.

No longer Prem, but strongly linked with Burnley.

I’m not massively convinced losing your whole management team is a great start to life in the PL though.

Maresca gets a five year deal at Chelsea. That's going to be a sweet four and a half year payment when he gets sacked at Christmas.

I see a rumour that Leicester want Potter, which would be an annoyingly good replacement.

They can dig up Bobby Robson for all I care as long as they don't go after SSC.

FWIW, I had a quick look at the Lestoh forum and they have a poll for who they want as manager - the three clear leaders are Potter, Corberan and Moyes. Cooper is in joint 7th place with Nigel Pearson, behind those three plus Robins, De Zerbi and Pochettino.

I suspect that given their financial / PSR situation they're not going to be able to pay compensation for Corberan or Robins, they're not going to be able to afford Pochettino's wages, and De Zerbi didn't walk away from a good job at a well run club with a decent squad to take over a basketcase that's likely to be fighting relegation. Moyes and Potter are probably their best bets but they also might think they're above a relegation fight, so Cooper could be their likeliest bet.
