Cooper is 22/1 to be Brighton manager. Probably not worth a punt but what a job that could be for him.

He did say he wanted another premier league job, but why would he want to come to a batshit club like ours. I'm not sure he would be a good fit or that we have players that would suit his style. One might assume that it would certainly mean the end for Matt Turner.

I would presume he has his eyes on Man U.

Or abroad. He's been linked with some pretty ridiculous jobs given his actually pretty mediocre track record.

The narrative seems to be that he wanted more control over transfers and they weren't willing to go down that route.

Potter returning would seem a good fit though I don't know if their fans hate him now.

Vincent Kompany is now favourite for the Bayern job. Apparently he had full control at Burnley. I’m not sure he’ll get that in Munich. Either way, that would be a dictionary definition of failing upwards.

Working with Pep is the new Working with SirAlex. Especially with Arteta doing so well. The Man City kit man could probably get a manager gig in League One as everyone looks for those blessed by the Pep fairy dust.

Kompany has, overall, done well. But in no world would he be in the running for jobs that are orders of magnitude bigger than the ones that SSC might be tapped for.

Resident_Alien, jamesob and tricky like this.

I was going to smugly quote his record in Belgium but, when I checked, he did ok with the referee bribers but nothing exceptional that would put him in the running for Bayern fucking Munich.

Being the new Steve McClaren/Brian Kidd is lucrative at least.
