Dropping down to Brum would be a risk for Cooper, especially since this season will not be a promotion one (the top 4 look to be a class above).

Sixth place is currently on track for 71. To get to 72, Birmingham would need 44 points from 20 games, which is a big ask but we’ve seen what Cooper can achieve quickly at that level.

They could make the playoffs, but 2 of those teams will be probably from Ipswich, Southampton and Leeds. Assuming Leicester continue on. Just plain better teams.

On that, hypothetical, run of form, they’d be strong contenders.

Didn't know Swansea were looking for a new manager but turns out they've been looking on t'other side of the Trent.

Feels like Notts' owners are pretty savvy and will find a decent replacement again.

Lopetegui is apparently only interested in top 6/8 clubs, hence his refusal to talk to us.

What exactly has Lopetegui done to be so selective and confident in his own abilities without anybody questioning that? From what I can see of his CV he did a reasonable job over a very short time span at Wolves and has had a long career before that being mediocre or worse. He must have a busy PR person.

OIFBC boss Luke Williams set for Swansea (Coventry also planning a move for OIFBC striker Langstaff - could be a very bad January for them)
Ex-Oxford boss Karl Robinson in at Salford (he would have been a great appointment for OIFBC).
Ex-Sunderland boss Tony Mowbray set for Birmingham.

I just looked up Tony Mowbray because it oddly feels like he's managed pretty much everyone bar a few in the EFL. Turns out he's only 60, despite looked at least 10 years older than that only and stopped playing in 2000. I say only,I still think of the early to mid 00's being 10 years ago, tops.

And anyway I thinking of Pulis. I couldn't be arsed googling him by this point though.

Mowbray confirmed for Brum. Seems a blandly competent choice.

Can't say as I've heard of him, but the current Notts owners seem to have a fairly good idea what they're doing.

Think we missed Troy Deeney into Forest Green Rovers about a month ago. And he’s out now.

Was that the one where he slagged his own player off? It was definitely a more honest style of media management, I'm not sure it's optimal for team success.

Felt like the sort of thing he’d seen other managers say in a dressing room and didn’t understand the difference.

It's definitely the sort of thing that players and coaches say to each other. As a general rule you don't say it to the media.
