That's actually pretty funny. At least Ange gets out of that shit hole of a club with a good payout, a European title to his name and a decent justification for their league position. Spurs just go back to being Spursy.
Hmmmmm. You can’t take the Europa League from him but ‘papering over the cracks’ is a fair phrase here. The fact the final was against Man Utd speaks volumes and gives me a fair bit of confidence heading into our European Campaign.
The issue is that his style of play is probably partly responsible for a lot of those injuries. ‘Team that does the most sprinting gets the most hamstring injuries’ is not a surprising outcome.
In theory, that's fine. In practice, he's been a coach/manager for 30 years, has largely had his teams play the same way, and has never had an issue with injuries anywhere like he did last season. Either he was incredibly unlucky, or the quality of the staff managing physical conditioning at Tottenham was lacking.
Well if being dreadful means winning a European competition for a club like Spurs, and getting them Champions League qualification, then sign me up for that for Forest please. It's the same as those who hounded Moyes out of West Ham despite him also winning a European competition, only for them to now start going back to their natural level. Spurs will also go back to type, and their supporters will be wanting Frank out too.
It's interesting that Todd is supportive of Ange (I assume) because they are both from Oz.
I (and I think it's fairly widespread) wouldn't give a fuck about an English manager overseas, unless it was with a Forest connection maybe, say Cooper.
