Must be a record? When I saw that Peter Ridsdale was involved I was not surprised. Allow a manager a full pre-season, bring in new signings and then sack him after one match against promotion favourites. Although Ridsdale hasn't failed upwards, he has certainly failed into a succession of roles since Leeds.
As this looks like a decision taken after a poorish finish to last season, you'd have thought that May would have been the right time. Not Ridsdale though.
Wasn't Ridsdale actually disqualified as a company director at one point due to his (alleged) sketchy dealings at Caerdydd? Or did I make that up?
Just checked, and they lost 2-0 at home to a side relegated from the Premier League. Presume something else must be going on because a sacking after one game in those circumstances is bonkers.
It sounds like Lowe actually resigned rather than the club sacking him, apparently he tried to resign a little while back and Ridsdale talked him out of it.
It was their 6th loss in a row without scoring a goal, but you would have thought end of last season was the time not first game of this
Well his old job at Argyle will be available soon
Paul Yorkshirebottom is the favourite for the Preston job.
USMNT have turned their attention to Mauricio Pochettino.
Looks like they've got him.
Steve Bruce is in talks to become the new head coach of Jamaica.
Update: Steve Bruce is now the new manager of Blackpool. Like Jamaica, it has beaches and sea and drunk tourists. Unlike Jamaica, everything else.
Maybe his wife didn't want to go.
Clever. I'm not falling for that, my jokes are bad enough as it is.
Steve Bruce is on a one man crusade to manage every single football league club North of Coventry, in a haphazard fashion, isn't he?
Has he even ever been past Warwick services southbound? Ever?
Surprised he's not been elevated to the house of lords by now, for services to destroying football.
'ull.

Still not south of Warick services, southbound, albeit geographically, relative to the rest of the island of Great Britain, in adifferent part of the country.

Played for Gillingham and managed Palace, so... probably?
