The Leicester fans must be disappointed
Seems like Spurs are edging towards Potter. Which seems weird to me. If you are going that route, why go for the guy who’s already failed at a big six, rather than SSC?
Wash your mouth out. Don’t give them any ideas. Potter is a developmental coach. If spuds have a very good youth side he will do very well. I wonder if old ‘Arry is off at last.
Chicago: Happy to stick with Steve.
Pretty confident Levy doesn’t check in with my opinion before choosing managers. The fool.
Napoli's manager Luciano Spalletti has announced that, having just guided the club to their first title since the Maradona glory days, he's walking away at the end of the season and having a year off working because he's tired. That's one hell of a mic drop.
Not that unexpected, I believe Gab Marcotti wrote about it a couple of weeks ago, the chairman failed to notify him that he wanted to take up the option year on his contract, without talking to Spaletti first.
Spaletti decided he would have the club pay him for the year, whilst he relaxed running his wine business.
The next coach will be Napoli’s 7th in 8 years I believe, or close to.
So long as they don't appoint Postecoglou.
Nobody is going to hold Chelsea against him.. they went mad and bought every player they could other than the one they needed.. and that obviously wasn’t at Potter’s direction. He’ll get a job based on his record before that. SSC needs PL progress on his CV before the top dogs (or Spurs) get serious. Right now he’s an excellent Championship manager who pulled off a PL miracle in unusual circumstances.
It's still a question mark over him and the last three(?) ex-Chelsea managers Spurs have appointed have gone pretty badly. Rationally, none of that should matter but it does tend to.
With Cooper, you are getting in before his reputation/price explodes. It's too soon, really, for him to move to a club with champions leage aspirations but they are at a low ebb and have done the guaranteed track record managers recently with little success.
Potter has been linked with Palace as well which seems like a good fit, although I doubt that'd go down well with Brighton fans
So there's Spurs, Palace, maybe Wolves, then Leicester, Leeds and Southampton, then Cardiff and Huddersfield all looking for managers this summer. Presumably in that order.
Southampton have gone for Russell Martin already haven't they, so Swansea need a new manager and fit in probably where Southampton were on that list
It must be time for a new Watford boss by now
Ah yes, I forgot him. The natural transition from Nathan Jones to Russell Martin with one caretaker in between. Makes about as much sense as Bielsa > Marsch > Allardyce.
Watford only appointed Valerie Ismail this month, so he's probably got most of pre-season before they sack him.
Leeds and Inter Miami both looking for new managers.
Phil Neville would be perfect for Leeds next year!
