FWIW, I had a quick look at the Lestoh forum and they have a poll for who they want as manager - the three clear leaders are Potter, Corberan and Moyes. Cooper is in joint 7th place with Nigel Pearson, behind those three plus Robins, De Zerbi and Pochettino.

I suspect that given their financial / PSR situation they're not going to be able to pay compensation for Corberan or Robins, they're not going to be able to afford Pochettino's wages, and De Zerbi didn't walk away from a good job at a well run club with a decent squad to take over a basketcase that's likely to be fighting relegation. Moyes and Potter are probably their best bets but they also might think they're above a relegation fight, so Cooper could be their likeliest bet.

I think we can probably assume that he's talking about Leicester and Brighton.

Brighton is obviously the better job but I'd be surprised if he got that. Not sure he's the tactician type that they tend to go for.

He does like a say in transfer business too, which does not fit Brighton model

I think as long as his recommendations fit their model, they'd probably listen. From what I read, De Zerbi wanted to sign players in their prime while the Brighton model is young players whose value will increase (which suits SSC) and older pros to set a tone.

He wouldn't be getting Wood & Shelvey past them!

To be fair, they did sign and regularly play James Milner. They aren't totally against older players if they are the right profile and salary.

Well you can understand why no club would want to sign a forward with a better than one-in-three goal-to-game ratio across hus career. Complete rubbish.

Pretty meaningless if it's just the average age of the players used (Felipe and Kouyate will be dragging our average up despite hardly playing).

McKenna has somehow made himself one of the highest paid managers in the PL according to the BBC.

Presumably that's not unhelpful when it comes to the compensation they can command in a few months when one of the big boys is on the lookout for a new manager.

Not so helpful if they are bottom of the league in 4 months time and want to sack him.

I suspect they've decided he's their man and he's quite an asset. I reckon Ipswich are more likely to do a Burnley with their manager next season than a Sheffield United.

The big boys have just had a look and weren’t interested.

5 yr contract announced for Maresca at Chelski.

They must all be laughing to themselves at the 5yr bit. Not one person involved thinks he’ll still be there in 5yrs.

I’ve had a look on the Leicester forum. It’s dawned on them they have no money so Cooper appears to be an option as they won’t have to pay compo.

And they aren’t at all happy about it.
