I know he fucked up the three-on-one right at the end, but I thought Silva showed real intelligence when he came on. There were several instances where he held the ball in tight situations, slowed the frantic nature of the play in stoppage time and won corners and throw-ins for his side.

I'm really looking forward to seeing more from him. He must be pushing Elanga for a start and it will be interesting to see if can grab the opportunity when it arises.

I was just moaning about them paying expenses (presumably) for Everton's coaching staff to scout us when they faked out and brought Chets out.

Amusing when he got two corners off Guehi, who clearly was not enjoying playing against him. He did fuck up the three-on-one but I think you have to give the defender somem credit for closing down his options.

Didn't see it happen in the second half, so I assume the coaching staff got them to make some adjustment.

Jota must be close to a start but it’s the messing up of the 3 on 1 which is why he perhaps isn’t. Elanga isn’t on form but I’m confident he will come good soon. Nice to have the competition though.

Not sure about that. He executed a similar two-on-one at Brighton perfectly for the equaliser. Silva was unlucky last night in that his touch was heavy which gave the defender the opportunity to challenge for the ball. At that point, the square pass option had gone but it was probably 50/50 whether the Palace player won the ball or arrived a fraction late and potentially gave away a penalty.

I think he's a cracking player, though. Smart, skilful, tenacious and aggressive (in the right way). Looks another solid foreign signing on early evidence.

Bloke behind me was shouting loudly for him to come on from about 30 minutes in. Was that you? (He also spent the entire first half thinking Dominguez was playing as a 10 and thought we were matching Palace's formation when we switched to a back three shortly after they switched to a 4 so I'm not entirely convinced by his analytical skills.)

Only if you were standing in the concourse

    How does your voice carry?

Jota would be a God if he had teed up Taiwo to get that confident boosting goal. He didn’t, so he must love Chris Wood. Shame. 2-0 would have been lovely.

Fester next. Thread coming soon. Get excited!!!

Oh and if Palarse are still struggling in January then I think someone (like the spuds or $$$sea) will come in for Eze and Dougie Freedman would have to work major magic. I suspect they and Wolves will start to crawl out of their respectively holes though.

    Chicago: Building up to Cooperbowl.

A50 was being fucky. Closed for a couple of junctions so Maps took us through Asbourne, Leek and Macclesfield

Bollocks did we. That was a controlled performance that largely limited the opposition shooting from distance which our in form keeper kept out. Whereas we created a number of high chance of conversion opportunities and largely had the middle of the park. And we made the right subs at the right time. A proper Premier League team performance.

For all the fine margins sh!t, this season we've improved so that the margin is between victory and draw, whereas as last season felt like draw and defeat. We've got a Prem team and an above-average bench.

Should I say we fluked the goal because Hendo cocked it up. We were decent, so where they. On Balance we were slightly better but not much. Not playing Mateta in the no.9 is what is fucking up Palace. That is a manager mistake. Our manager has been dead on this season. Well done you miserable Portogeezer.

    Chicago: Happy with the result.

He’s not even miserable any more. He’s joking with Fray in his interviews now.
