I thought Dominguez was excellent tonight. Interesting to see some criticism above - me and my mates had him as MOTM (although Elliott was very good as well).
A really good start to the season. Now let's fuck the foxes up on Friday night.

I thought Dominguez showed why he is down the pecking order when everyone else isn't injured or suspended. Some cheap giveaways 1st half of ball or free kicks. Not as noticeable 2nd half. Can't help but wonder if he'd rather be one of the AMs rather than the DMs <FMspeak> but he isn't better than the other AM options and is having to plug a current gap.
This was also a game that had me pondering the wisdom of declining Newcastle's alleged sizeable Elanga bid.
The middle three did what they needed to. Held their shape defensively throughout, allowing Palarse to play into neutral positions all they wanted whilst preventing any real threat, and getting forward to support Wood when there was a danger he'd be isolated. Anderson the best of the three but neither Yates nor Dominguez played badly.
Murillo was my major concern, half a yard off, that slip that we got away with, distribution lacking the usual vision. Needs a wake up.
Fair to say I think he has the correct centre back partner for him to be listening to.
I'm inclined to think that complacency can slip into some players' games, second season syndrome or whatever, but he'll shake it off easily, I reckon.
FPL bonus points were awarded to Sels, Wood .... And Murillo. Proving once again it's bullshit.
Just got home after a significant detour. Anderson was the best player on the pitch. Did 10 very well and looked frustrated that others on the team weren't at his standard of thinking. Dominguez was lucky not to get a card in the first but improved. Works hard. Sels is loving it. Milenkovic is loving it. Yates pushed him over to A Block at the end and they were roaring at each other. I thought Elanga was better than other people did. Delighted to see Awoniyi come on. They proper shit themselves. And if Silva got it right, very possibly in for a goal.
In summary, Anderson.
Was the M1 being fucky? We went to see 10cc at The De Montfort in Lestah last night. Travelling back we were forced off 1 junction short due to overnight roadworks - we can only have been minutes late for the closure but at least we were near enough to use local knowledge taps nose.
Agree with your Anderson points. He always seemed to know where Wood wanted the ball, but appeared less certain about his midfield colleagues. He strikes me as someone who want to see lots of movement when he has the ball, but we're in a somewhat more 'structured' phase of season 3 of Project Premiershipleague (season 1.5 since the Nuno reboot).
HENDO!
Cannot save long range shots. Got caught when playing for us.
SELS! Had a sparkling game.
Anderson MOM. The Dom started dodgy got better as he went along.
Elanga wasn’t with it. Aina was too close to him.
Milenkovic is a God! Player of the season by the end of it. He is solid as fuck.
We sort of fluked it but it’s about about time we got some luck. Palarse will be fine if they play the big French man at number 9. For some weird reason Glasner stopped playing him. Big fuck up.
Nketiah would be much better in our system.
Bring on the Cooper Bowl!
Chicago: Feeling happy.
Instead of... Wood?
Nketiah didn't have a terrible game, but £30M for a striker who now hasn't scored a goal for over a year is beginning to look like a lucky escape. We've contributed enough to the Arsenal benevolent fund with our donation for Matt Turner, and they still owe us for those red kits. Santiago Gimenez has similarly done nothing since he snubbed us (his hips don't like [working]). If we'd signed them Wood wouldn't have got the same platform he has used to score as many as Watkins and Salah, so blessings in disguise - those two failed deals could have been the most important bits of business we did in the window as it turns out. Funny how things work out.
Omar Marmoush on the other hand, who looked like he was going to be our panic buy at one point, has gone next level in the Bundesleiga and I suspect would now cost far far more than the £20M we were chucking at the Frankfurters.
Few random things - at half time they gave a big build up for Steve Stone and then interviewed Steve Chettle for some reason. When the premier league athem was booed, Eze looked around really confused about what was going on.
There were 4 or 5 times in the first half when they played 50 yard passes through our midfield entirely along the ground, which seems like a worry but seems structural, rather than anyone specific.
Dominguez did a lot that was good but got warned after about 30 minutes he'd get booked for his next foul, fouled again and didn't get booked and then when he did get booked it was for kicking the ball away.
Anderson outstanding - looks an absolute steal.
Thought Murillo had a pretty poor game by his standards, too many sloppy passes (even allowing for the fact there'll always be a few, because of his ambition) and dived in unnecessarily late on. But the rest of the defence held well, so wasn't the problem it would have been last season.
Overall, we need more goals from midfield (think I caught the end of Perch saying something similar when I got to the car). Don't know if starting Jota will fix that or maybe Morgan or Anderson can start getting a few (think Anderson doesn't have a first team goal outside of league 2).
This was particularly down their right channel. As you say, the fact that repeatedly a 30/40 yard ball on the ground could break the lines like that, shows that the distances are wrong between the players. Either in where they are lining up, or how they are executing it. We've generally been better recently, but that was poor.
Didn't Anderson have a perfectly good goal against us ruled out while at Newcastle as well.
Correctly ruled out, I think you'll find: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqVHkjsggqw

This seems to be a regular thing. Show a video montage of an old legend, then bring out a different one.
That said, the new telly is crap, so you can't really see it properly from the Clough Upper. Bring back Fawaz.
Don't know if starting Jota will fix that...
I know he fucked up the three-on-one right at the end, but I thought Silva showed real intelligence when he came on. There were several instances where he held the ball in tight situations, slowed the frantic nature of the play in stoppage time and won corners and throw-ins for his side.
I'm really looking forward to seeing more from him. He must be pushing Elanga for a start and it will be interesting to see if can grab the opportunity when it arises.
