Not looking likely. I agree with them.

I mean I expect that it's nice to play in an environment that promises to back you, however much you abandon technique and judgement, and however badly that goes.

Unfortunately it's a rotten spectacle, mugs off the paying public, and will be the death of test Cricket.

At least it took 4 wickets for someone to be caught somewhere behind chasing a wide one.
    Progress.
    Ahem.

Difficult end to the days play for England. Unfortunately for them they couldn't chuck their wickets away quite quickly enough, so they wont be able to play golf tomorrow.

Day/night game, so could play before the start, as long as Stokes and the bowlers have the early tee times. It's not like the batsmen are going to need to participate tomorrow.

I wonder what handicap they are playing with?....apart from not being able to stop themselves fishing for the ball outside off stump, obviously.

Does Baz of the Bazball resign after this series? What an absolute shit show. The whole ethos of English test cricket seems to solely based around the Ashes, with tests against NZ/India/SA etc just being seen as warm up matches. And it explodes on contact.

People now travelling out for dead rubbers. And anyone with day 4/5 tickets will be travelling in hope rather than expectation of seeing any cricket at all. I suppose some people will be there for the experience, but surely that comes in large part from the games being vaguely competitive for more than 1h per game

McCullum increasingly feels like the guy you get in to do a day’s team building and motivational speeches rather than someone with a long term plan. Sort of, “that bloke from the SAS had a couple of good ideas. Glad he’s gone now though because he was insane”.

    noodle and tricky like this.

Key is the one for me who needs to go, there is a significant lack of planning - yeah we’ll baza says we’re just going to be aggressive, great strategy that Robert…

I thought the mantra was 'brave cricket' rather than 'aggressive cricket'

I would defer to your superior knowledge of cricket (could almost be directed at anyone).

In your judgement, which is 'braver', taking on the bowler by just swinging for everything, and if you get out, so what.....or digging in and exercising judgement, and trying to apply technique with concentration and application?

I'm slightly concerned that this might be one of the examples of spoken words not actually meaning what the words actually mean.

Well, where they don't, I would expect comment around it to consist of "well that's a load of bollocks isn't it".
