Maybe not
Maybe not
Even though I went to bed before the toss I put a quid on England losing a wicket 1st over.
Checked the score at 5.30 having been woken by the cat. Laughed.
Had to explain to Mrs Rave why I was laughing.
Woke up again a short while ago and checked the score. Laughed a diffferent laugh.
49-4 is nice
Was up at 6 for a run, England 172-8 - that's not good. Back after 7, England all out, Australia 28-1, saw JR's post, silently agreed. Had a shower, Australia 34-4. Safe to say, the game is moving fast.
Stokes has struck. Travis Head gone. This is an interesting contest.
Glenn McGrath had just been telling Test Match Special listeners how it might be shifting Australia's way because the Kookaburra ball was starting to soften.
He's now got rid of Green. 83-6.
Stokes!
Pity we couldn't completely PAVILIONIZE them before stumps.
I know the pitch helps, but that was some of the best bowling from England in years.
Agreed. Hard to know what a par score is. Difficult to gauge the accurate balance between shit batting / poor decision-making and exceptional bowling from both teams.
Maybe England being skittled out for 170-odd on day one wasn't as bad as it first appeared. I don't know enough about the pitch at Perth to understand how it's going to deteriorate, and therefore what batting on it last will look like.
No idea if we are in a good or bad position. But the four years invested in Crawley because he’ll be good in Australian conditions isn’t off to the best start.
So far appears the answer is “bad”.
And the only alternative on this tour seems to be Pope to open and Bethell at 3. Good planning lads.
Australia scoring really easily now.
At least we’ve got one.
5-0?
This was the banker wasn't it with their injuries?
