I’d go Aina but Morato is right there.
Neco’s been outstanding lately as well.

Starting to think Forest might be safe.

We're not safe until Guru says we are.

Job done. Everton are wank. Mangala non existent.

Nice we are so professional. Could have had a couple more.

    Chicago: Content.

Everton, like all Dyche sides, are very well organised and know how to defend. Breaking them down is non-trivial. Taking the ball in tight areas with the likes of a neck trap and first time layoff, balls with the outside of his foot round the corner into the channels, and weighted balls to make the runner the favourite, MGW had them chasing fog. The highest quality level was him today. Elanga the highest workrate.

37 points is usually enough, but teams have gone down with more.

Two points fewer than Leicester after 19 games nine years ago.

When was the last time we won five in a row in the top flight?

  • Dave_Ravepanorama_fish_eye

    I think I read it was 1995.

  • Dave_Ravepanorama_fish_eye

And it's the 1st time since 1898/99 that we've won at both Everton and Liverpool.

Apparently it was in the 77/78 season (during the 42 unbeaten run)

    That 1995 run:
    Everton 2-1 (H)
    Lestah 4-2 (A)
    Southampton 3-0 (H)
    Leeds 3-0 (H)
    Sheff Wed 7-1 (A)

    Bookended by a 2-2 draw v Spurs and a 1-1 draw v Wet Ham (both H).

The story goes, tyre blew just before junction 6. Call the AA. Get t a tyre garage a couple of miles from Goodison. Tyre guy works quick and I'm back on the road. Drive closer. Chum with ticket calls to see where I'm up to and all I hear is screaming. Wood has just scored. Got in 10 minutes before half time.
Goodison is a very quiet place. Great atmosphere from the travelling support.

It wasn't a great match, the football was often disjointed which was to be expected but we did some stuff better. In large part when we did get forward we did make better decisions. One of Gibbs Whites much better games in that regard. Beautiful ball through for Sosa which he should have buried but he needs confidence through minutes. CHO would have had Wood for that chance. Slight blip later on where he should have slipped Sosa in to the left but ballooned it over the bar. Elanga was magnificent again. Key player in both goals and kept them scared. looked absolutely fuuuuuuucccckkkedd in the end. Big fan. Wood did Wood stuff better as well. And I thought Awoniyis cameo was great. Glimpses of that marauding attack at pace alongside Elanga but he's rusty and Elanga knackered. Anderson delivered yet again. Didnt stand out but when you look at his performance, he's mainstay and will be difficult to dislodge when Danilo and Sangarre return.
Special mention to the fans. 10 out of 10 performance. New chants and completely in the moment. Have that Brid!

What new chants caught your ear?
