Dept Q on Netflix is worth your time.
Nicely dark Scottish police procedural. Well scripted and clearly setting up for a multi series run.

Literally talking about this an hour ago. Watched first two. Very good. Enjoyed it described as Tartan Noir.

Harriet seems to have been quite controversial and divided opinion. What did you think to her?

Me too! I thought she was awesome! Really knew her stuff (and that is not just written for the show, I have seen her social media and she actually does know her stuff) Friendly, funny and I hope to see a lot more of her in it.
I have no idea why some people have had such a problem with her! it seems to be generally male boomers who do not like her, perhaps they took exception to the chopping of eyebrows scene. Or feel threatened by any woman, especially a young one, who knows a bit more than the men.
They seem to be unable to articulate why they do not like her other than saying "she's annoying"
I work with quite a few teenage girls on the yard who have gone, or plan to go to college and get into farming so she is setting a great example for them as well as being good entertainment.

Don't know if it's been mentioned but the current series of Taskmaster is the best for a while.

I am really enjoying Death Valley, a light crime series, but well acted.

Well having freedom to watch what you like is kind of liberating even if it's in the middle of the night. Dept Q is on the list but I am watching season 2 of Andor which is a little up and down for me but I will watch it to the end. The Mechanism which is a true story of Operation Car Wash in Brazil where the Federal police undercover the biggest corruption scandal that takes down half the government is fascinating. No real action or violence but great drama in investigating the crimes. I really like it as it is made with great care and with excellent characters.

And because i am in a rage at the moment, Netflix has warmed my heart with; "Mercy For None". A Korean mob revenge drama. Totally John Wickish but well acted and of course violence. Lots of it. Right up my alley.

    Chicago: Watching bloke things.
