Sadly, I totally disagree (except for the spoiler bit). I really enjoyed 8 episodes, the 9th was thrilling but, to be honest, not really my sort of conclusion.
But the 10th episode was awful. I think it was trying to be cute in its storytelling but it totally failed in every stupid choice it made, over and over again.
Culminating in a kind of "just because" situation at the end. I haven't been so annoyed at a TV show in years. I can't remember if I've ever been so annoyed at a TV show.

We are not there yet but near the end. This is disappointing as we have enjoyed it so far. Thought the first episode of Reacher Season 3 was actually good. It will probably devolve but so far a strong start. We have never watched Fleabag until now. Wow the first season is well done. Quality British television. Messy, chaotic, awkward and fucked up. Just like my life. Loved it. Have the second incarnation to watch but I understand why it took so long to come up with a second act.

I think I will revisit Peep Show too as I never got to watch all of it and now I can catch it all on HULU over here. It will probably dip in quality but I loved it when i first started watching it.

I rewatched Peep Show quite recently. The changes from season to season are quite jarring when you watch like that but it's only really the last season where it drops off significantly and there's still good stuff in there (the stuff with Tim Key wouldn't have worked in the early series but it's funny).

They've dropped the first three episodes on Amazon Prime over here and I've watched two, having blitzed seasons one and two while off work sick last year.

Picked up where it left off really - quite good fun if you can overlook the ludicrous plot and ropey acting. Alan Ritchson doesn't need to stretch himself too far in that regard.

Just started Slow Horses. Didn't realise there were 4 seasons. Hope it's good.

It is. Very in my view.

Finally got round to watching White Lotus. Terrific show but I don't understand

"Deadly Class" on Netflix. An 80s Hogwarts for assassins with a killer sound track. Henry Rollins as the poisons professor.

Caught up on Severance. A couple of high points, but if I didn't have a vested interest in it in the form of a woman I'd have given up a while ago. I don't understand why people are so obsessed with it.

Starting to feel like it's a one to two series idea that is being unreasonably dragged out. The last two episodes have been massive problems for me.

    Don’t be absurd, Mr. Bumcrest

I really like Severance (although I haven’t got around to the second season) and I even liked The Prisoner.
I thought Lost was complete shite, however, so I don’t know. Let people like what they like? Some people think 90 Day Fiancé is peak telly.

Have heard this said about Stranger Things and it’s understandable. TV, despite changing massively with the advent of streaming, is still prone to cancelling stuff, so some writers are hamstrung by the danger of being renewed as much as they are cancelled. Off the top of my head, the notable exceptions are Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

I thought the story with Stranger Things was that the Duffer Brothers intended it as an anthology but when the first series was a big hit they had to keep the stars, so we end up where we are.

I'm not telling people what to like and not like, but since when did Talkback become a judgement free safe space?

  • 20 Mar 2025, 2:39 p.m.

I think it’s fine to judge, I’ve just had to be more circumspect about any media in the last few years (hello job that starts absurdly early and small children) so I ignore or bail on stuff that I may have stayed with in previous years. So I may be a little more can’t be arsed to care than others.
Most recently I was recommended Alice in Borderland as “way better than Squid Game” (which I like) and don’t think I’m going to get past the third episode.
Take, for example, your recent watching of many Oscar contenders. I can’t imagine carving out the time to do that. I really want to watch the Brutalist but anything more than 2 to 2 1/2 hours is always going to lose out on a Friday night (the one night when the kids might be at grandmas).

All that said, the phone really needs to be put down.

This is my feeling too. Mrs Less likes it, it's not terrible, but I find it a bit boring.
