Given Russ' comment, I decided to watch S5 of Fargo. Though I found myself thinking I wasn't sure I had finished S4, so I first re-watched that. It was good. I'm now on S05E3. Took me a little while to place Juno whatsherface from Ted Lasso. Impressive Canadian accent and general acting. I didn't think she had that in her. Don Draper also has just made an entrance as a cowboy. Another excellent actor. The story is decent too so far. No complaints here.

Not that good clearly given she's doing a Minnesota / North Dakota accent, neither of which are in Canada. Both border Canada but people in Manitoba don't really sound like that at all.

Made it through 5 episodes of Fargo before we gave up. The stagey overacting and incredibly baggy script get very boring and we couldn't face another 3+ hours of it.

The Gentlemen, on Netflix. A Guy Ritchie cliché in eight parts, with every conceivable stereotype of race, class, gender and geography thrown in, including Ray Winstone playing himself, as usual, Vinny Jones with shotguns and the bloke who played Gus in Breaking Bad reprising that role. Maybe it was supposed to be ironic or funny. If so, I didn’t get it. Flimflam of the lowest order.

Also thought it was ace. Guy Ritchie being Guy Ritchie is fine by me.

Another thumbs up here. Susie Glass makes me feel things.

3 body problem on Netflix, binged over the last few days, decent sci-fi with a hook at the end of each ep to keep you watching.

I thought it was a one off thing, so when it ended without a resolution I was a bit miffed, will be more miffed if they don't make further seasons. But otherwise worth a watch.

Note to self: cancel those TV night invitations to JRs Cigarette, Psychobel and Russ.

You'd probably only want to watch some soppy romance story anyway.

I’ve only seen the many many clips Netflix keeps hyping of the Gentlemen but I have read that Winstone’s monologue about steak would get the klaxons on QI.

3 Body Problem is the GoT crew (Benioff and Weiss) so assume they will spin this out for several seasons…I thought it was very well done and was not expecting resolution at the end of this season.
Ray Winstone is cringingly bad in the Gentlemen. Otherwise, it was fun and passed the time when I was doing a lot of travelling in March.

You're the first person I've heard of not to like it.

Takes all sorts, I guess. I just thought it was silly and unbelievable with lots of hammy acting and stereotypes. Probably shouldn't have bothered with it as I don't usually like blokey stuff with guns. Or superhero/comic stuff either. And don't get me started on fantasy or monster nonsense...

It really is just the romcoms for you!
