As per the request for calendar, talkback now has a portal/dashboard. It's part landing page with (maybe - feedback may lead to refinement) useful links, and the ecal fixtures calendar. It actually contains two calendars. At the top of the page is a forest fixtures and uk bank holiday calendar, and at the bottom of the page is a uk bank holiday and all 'ship fixtures. These are linked to the official ecal calendars, so should update automatically (and save you from having to register to access them). Because of the format it displays better on desktop...but it does work even on mobile.

Access is through turnstile (current logged in session), the direct link is:

    talkdash

Is it meant to look like this?

Nope. Is your browser logged in with a current session?

    Check on turnstile.

Seems to be yes. I'm posting this from the same browser and session.

When I click the login button which is top right on the site URL you have provided I'm given this.

Try talkdash again, refresh the browser. What browser are you using (browser and version)....it's possible that it doesn't support iframes - that's the only thing that I could think.

Hold that thought. I hadn't issued correct permissions to the calendar server. I have now. Refresh it and it should work.

    That's better.

Though remove the random football links to BBC / guardian etc? Not like anyone needs them.

    Correct

No. Also, some of the links are rss/atom feeds, not links to the sites in question. Which can be used in a feed reader on mobile, rather than going to the site. Some are just there for my convenience. It's intended to be a portal to link to services...not just a calendar.

I've added pop out standalone links for the calendars, if you want to only use those, or maximise browser real estate for the calendars alone.

    I like it. Turdle's a nice touch.

It's a shame you still haven't managed to tweak every single facet, functional operation and aesthetic of the site to Shady's own personal preference yet though you massive slacker.

    Nice, thanks Tricky.

I will entertain suggestions for links, and particularly for rss/atom feeds. Let me know if you have any forest/football links that you would find value in having a shortcut for.

    For example, #nffc at twatter.

Note, rss-bridge supports producing rss/atom feeds for some sites (eg reuters, ap) that don't have native ones. you might want to look there as well.

    That's great, thanks!

Though Shady style moan, could we have some capital letters?

And what is the login for?

  • trickylens

    Anywhere in particular?

The login is for the administrator (me) to log in and configure the dashboard.

.... also for other users, if given a dashboard account, to create their own dashboard.

Some time ago, I don't know exactly when, I rebooted the server and forgot to restart the calendar server.

So the fixture calendar wasn't working.

    Nobody noticed.

I think the site needs a link to talkdash.
