I note the sticky on the soon to be former board. There was talk of this one being a temporary/test instance and not the final production version, is that still the case?
Also, are you bothering to try and move the old posts over, or are we just starting afresh? I feel like unless it's a really easy process, it's probably not worth the effort.
That's what I feel.
I will archive and maintain the old board in read only form, so that it can be searched and referred to......but we might as well start again, rather than Putin, err I mean put in a lot of effort for little net gain.
This board will update and change (like the editor has, and features and tweaks have been added), but hopefully keep working.
Consider it a permanent beta, in production use.
Note, when everyone who wants to has moved over, this will transfer to the old address.
It has taken me about half the time to write this than it would on the old board, thanks to the improved editor. Some very annoying legacy stuff needs leaving behind.
I think that if the cost and effort of maintaining the old board isn't burdensome then it's a good thing to do, if only because it seems nice to preserve the writings of Jason and Graham (I don't think Dom ever made it to that incarnation). But otherwise I doubt there's much of value that needs retaining.
I don't want to maintain it forever, but nor do I want to do anything else with it now.
Down the line it will be possible to convert it to a simple archive format (something like static pages, or a wiki/ knowledge base), given the forum function backend won't be required, only the posts.
I wish that you moving threads into categories didn't change them into 'unread' mode.
@tricky , as I know you're in contact with the dev, I wonder whether this could be tick-boxes? Would mean that a user can ignore certain topics i.e. games.

Yes, with the correct permissions.
On mobile at the moment it's unclear to me how to jump to unread posts in a thread.
If underlined, then click on the thread title.
And if not underlined? I can work out to get to the latest post but not the unread ones

Added a CSS to highlight offline/online status, in user lists. Now indicates in red/green as appropriate.
On this board when you quote a post that has a quote in it it brings the first quote through too. I think the old board just quoted the most recent posting, which I think was easier to read.
Is there a way of just quoting the last post on this board?
Yes. Quote the initial post only, or edit your post to remove the quote that you don't want.
Talking of quotes
I often highlight text by selecting as I read, this causes an annoying 'quote' popup button.
If no one is using it can it be disabled?
