Dibling and Fernandes will still be worth strong money in a year's time, and I think it's a good gamble as I don't think the Champ is as strong at the top as usual. One of the relegated teams looks like staying there a while (Leicester), some of the regular contenders look weaker than recent years (Sheffield United, Boro), and of the rest of the pack only Birmingham look like making a big push. Southampton, Ipswich and Birmingham seem like strong favourites for top 3 imo, so if I'm Saints I probably take that gamble.
If they have no financial issues, selling whilst in the championship, versus having been promoted to the has a big difference on the fee. Generally. It's worth keeping better young players, if they are well in contract, in their circumstances. Of course if they are promoted they wont be looking to sell because they will need their best players.
