Another at the Traore, mid teens, level I could buy as rotation. I don’t think we can have CHO and two £30m+ wingers.

Not sure our owner recognises that kind of logic, no matter how sensible it might sound. There was a fairly widely-held last season view that the drop-off was significant when Hudson-Odoi and Elanga were substituted for Silva and Sosa.
Hutchinson and/or Traoré certainly address that.
@BrettWilliams has written:Not sure. We've lost Elanga and Sosa, and brought in Ndoye. Makes sense to add another, especially if they've decided Silva isn't at the level they want.

I think with the extra games it’s what we need. And CHO does have a bit of time out with injuries.
Leif Davis. He was one of the better Ipswidge players last year, I thought.

Can't defend which seems like a problem for a full back.

Could conceivably work in a 3-5-2, but - as Simon says - has a rather Nuno Tavares vibe to me. Also suspect Ipswich will ask a high price

Nuno Tavares without the pace or strength.
On today's showing I'd prefer the Soton LB.

Seems a bit harsh. It's not that long since he was being pegged as the long term replacement for Luke Shaw in the England team. That said he's 25 now, so he's probably not developing much more from here.
They stopped saying that after his first few games in the Premier league.

He was seen as more of an attacking option than a defending one.
Romano says we’ve bid £13m+ for Soungoutou Magassa. He’s described him as a defender but fbref has him as a midfielder.

Monaco (& the French Olympic team) play him as a defensive midfielder, but he is also “capable of playing as a central defender”. 21.

<Megsontalk>Given we only had five centre-backs on the bench yesterday, we could probably do with another.<\Megsontalk>
Times says Newcastle are going back with an improved offer for Wissa. Would be nice if they'd get it done this week, although tbf I don't know if they'd select him next weekend anyway.

We seem quite good at making initial bids, getting them rejected and then moving on this transfer window. But it’s not really helping us improve the squad.
