Derby apparently spending $8M on Patrick Agyemang from Charlotte. I'm not sure that this is a good idea for them, the track record of strikers moving to England from the MLS isn't great and Agyemang isn't anything particularly special IMO.

    I fully agree.
Having him seen play in person, he's a very physical player with limited ability and not a lot of pace.
He can overpower several defenders but if he's matched with a defender with similar strength against him he's quite useless.
CF Montreal's George Campbell had him in his back pocket the whole game.
    Fine investment for D*rby then.

Doesn't seem to fit their age profile either. So far they've (re)signed Andreas Weimann (34 in May), Danny Batth (35 in May) and Carlton Morris (a sprightly 30 in May).

Got to admire our ambition, if not our realism.

Neco extends his contract to 2029. More of those, please.

I bow to your greater knowledge (I have none) of the player. Wiki tells me he has a decent scoring record, but then Stern John's was insane in US football.

You're forgetting the vast abilities of Robbie Finley (I think that was his name).

His scoring record (6 goals in 15 starts) isn't all that great, considering he has Pep Biel and Wilfried Zaha to give him some service.
As a reference, our promotion heroes Philip Zinckernagel (8 goals, 17 starts) and Sam Sturridge (16 goals in 19 starts and league top scorer) are way more efficient.

I miss Sam. Words cannot adequately express the equivalent feelings for Zinkernagelsbagels.

Sam looks absolutely terrific over here. I bet he's having the time of his life living in Nashville and being one of the league's stars. I doubt he'd be available for anything like $8M, you'd probably need to pay double that and then you'd have to persuade him to give up this life.

Always really liked him and he was a huge part of our promotion run-in.
