I am guessing part of the deal is that we allow them to play in the Club World Cup which could be potentially risky. Hopefully the prize is reflected in that.

    Chicago: Wheeler and Dealer.

Wonder how many of them are heading to Greece.

Just curious. Have you ever seen any of them play?

Is there anything at all to suggest that any are much good?

Interestingly, Botafogo are owned by John Textor who also owns Lyon, who gave us 70M for Niakhate and Mangala. Let's hope we come out of this deal as well as we did that one.

Jesus has four international caps, and it's not like a Brazil cap is especially easy to get.

Apparently the left back is wanted by Brighton too, they are usually good judges.

There is a Brazilian talking on FF who seems to imply the central defender is the best of the three, but maybe one for loan immediately.

    But who knows.

In addition to Brighton wanting the LB, Tim Vickery (journalist specialising in South American football) rates Igor Jesus highly and in January said that Arsenal "could do worse" than look at him.

I've also read he can play across the front line - if so would definitely seem shrewd to add cover for Wood, Elanga and CHO in one move. He was seemingly available in January too, I wonder why we didn't move then...

I thought we did try in January, but he wanted to stay for the Club World cup

He talks about Jesus as a false 9, so maybe he’s seen as replacement/cover for MGW.

He sounds like a cover for all the front positions. No idea how good compared to Elanga and CHO, but he fits the profile of a multi use player that we were supposed to want, like Wissa (wonder if we will go for him too)

Interestingly he said he was very good in the air too. For the money being discussed, and the profiles it seems worth a punt.

Rumours of Barry going to Textor's Lyon for 20 quid. I hope this isn't true because I love the lad. I think the ankle injury really screwed him up and I was hoping that he could get his mojo back in the pre-season. On top of the fact that he is Murillo's, (aka Lazarus - because he miraculously always plays after an injury) best mate. This might not be the best news for us.

i think once he gets his tackling shoes back on, he will soar. Sad if this is true.

    Chicago: Welling up.

Edit: The story was from the Daily Fail so probably total bollocks (phew)

Nice lad but I'd snap your hands of for £20m for him.

Something clearly a bit dodgy going on with the money that Lyon are giving us for players at the moment.

Ornstein says that City are close to signing Alt-Nouri from Wolves. One less destination for Aina.

Let’s not forget the 3 Brazilians come from a club who happens to have the same owner as Lyon….
