Think it’s been reported that he’s going to have talks with every club that expresses an interest (which seems very sensible). So there’ll probably be a series of these reports as he works his way round the division.

I'll be absolutely amazed if he comes to us when half the division wants him. There's as good a chance of us being in a relegation fight as in the top half next season. What we do have going for us in his position is that he must fancy his chances of playing regularly. Probably depends a bit how much he backs himself. Does he think he can break straight into the Chelsea team? The Spurs team? Or does he think he needs a couple of 'intermediate' seasons before the 'big club'. Being a striker he's probably a very confident person, so I don't think he'll feel he needs the intermediate move.

I thought his release clause was something like £30m that doesn't sound a massive risk compared to the potential. But I suppose we would have to offer big wages too
