Percy thinks they’re signing Delap as well.

Those are believable rumours, on the proviso that they qualified for the Champs League and sold Sancho, Rashford and Garnacho...

The model of selling home-grown players to satisfy FFP only works when those players keep coming through. Otherwise you’re storing up future losses and eventually enter a death spiral because you’re not adding value. Hopefully that’s their plan.

Yeah, I never really bought the idea that Chelsea had found some clever loophole by selling academy products and buying expensive players on long contracts with the money.

In year one, you can sell an academy player for £40m and buy four £50million players on 5 year contracts and pat yourself on the back for how clever you've been. But then in years two to five, you've got to sell another academy player for £40m every year in order to keep that first group of players and stand still.

Apparently United are close to spending 62.5M on Cunha. PSR issues what?

In 2023/24 United turned over 770 Euros, we turned over less than 200 Eur. That gap will have narrowed a bit this season but, financially, we are competing at different levels.

Yes. We’re the level where you don’t have to sack the dinner ladies.

Loaned out players who are under contract for next season:

Omar Richards, David Carmo, Matt Turner, Andrew Omobamidele, Tyler Bindon, Marko Stamenic, Lewis O'Brien, Josh Bowler and Emmanuel Dennis. (Jonathan Panzo is out of contact.)

Feels like Bindon is the most likely to be kept around - we need a mobile right-sided central defender for when we play with a three and the conference would seem to be a better alternative to build his experience than a championship loan. Richards looks to have played a fair amount in Portugal, so probably worth having a look at in pre-season. Would Carmo be seen as an upgrade on Morato? Hard to see Stamenic getting into the squad in an area we are pretty strong when he's not been playing regularly for Olympiacos.

All the others will definitely be looked to move on.

I doubt Marinakis is looking at any of those players and thinking 'keep for the future'. He wants Messi, Van Dijk and Harry Kane and he wants them now.

Could do a job for us in the conference league.

    ...and for scrabble*.

    * I don't know the rules, names probably not allowed.

Guess it depends on how the club (Nuno) sees him vs Bindon and Abbott. His team this season (Strasbourg) are among our competition in the conference next season.

Even if it were allowed you'd have to hope someone played 'amid' to play Omobele around it.

Fabrizio saying Delap wants to go to Chelsea. Not convinced their high possession, slow build-up approach will suit him.

I suspect the Salary offered will though.

Exactly. They will sign him on a 7 year deal for 15-20m a year. Who gives a fuck about playing style?

Citeh playing games with us by linking Cherki from Lyon to them by stating that he is a cheaper option. Those cunts have money to burn like their oil so it's just games. Or we keep MGW for another year before having to sell him next season when he only has one year left on his contract. Seems he doesn't seem in a hurry to sign a new one with us so it's either this year or next.

I think we are going to buy foreign as Delap has gone where the money is so we need to be a little cleverer in the market.

    Over to you Transfer committee.
