The "stupidly low" bar to trigger a mandatory option, is surely just a PSR dodging spreadsheet process? You are actually buying the player....but you structure the deal as a loan first, to push the purchase costs into the next seasons spending for PSR purposes?

Yes, that's what they use it for - but it also says we have an option to buy for 30m Euros if he doesn't meet the appearance criteria which makes it sound like it isn't ridiculously low

Wissa has acted like a dick, and good luck to Brentford stringing this out as long as possible and hurting both teams, but that's a lot of money for a 29 year old with one prolific season at this level.
