So Lewis, Hutchinson & McAtee are all lightweight & need to toughen up… but you like Sosa.

That feels like a teency-weency dab of double standard, there, but… whatever.

Sosa was a bigger boy than you think and he was pretty physical actually. Little bit brushed off the ball to start with. Improved a fair amount in the aggression stakes. I watched him play when he was on the field. Much better than you give him credit for. Regardless Nuno didn’t like him. Not sure why but probably a training thing.

    Chicago: Passing the eye test.

I didn’t dislike Sosa at all (don’t know where you get that from)… burt if you asked the vast majority of Forest fans for their “eye test” (aka subjective opinion) of Sosa, I’ll lay you money that the summary would be along the lines of “skilful but not physical enough for the Premier League”… which is exactly how you have just dismissed Hutchinson, McAtee & Lewis.

    We’ll see, I guess.

I like Jota. Ticks the same "massive pain in the arse off the bench" box as Yates, but further up the pitch. I'd keep him if he's willing to stay.

Jota is basically Paul Dickov. I'd rather have him on our team than the opposition, but not for his footballing ability.

I think a second season is worthwhile, if only to increase his resale value.

Don’t entirely disagree, but last season we needed ‘good at football’ off the bench more often than we needed ‘massive pain in the arse’.

I like having both options, but there's definitely a value to having a niggly petulant Portugeezer getting in the defenders' faces and running directly at them for the last 20 when we have a lead.

Fuck me Brentford paid £42.5M for Ouattara. He's decent but that's a big punt.

I feel like that's a move they don't make with Frank still there.

Yeah, when I said I thought we should go for him if he was available for Brentford money, that wasn’t what I had in mind.

By all accounts the coach role at Brentford is very separate from the recruitment, so I doubt him being there would have made any difference.

Pretty sure Frank would have had a fairly loud voice in the room, Richards probably less so. It might work out for them because Ouattara is young and clearly talented, but it's not the kind of signing they made when Frank was there.

From the outside, I guess, “manager interview where he whinges about lack of signings is published Thursday; £100m+ spending spree at the weekend”, doesn’t seem like a heathy dynamic for a club.

The main problem is though he’d come on, run around a lot but run into people on the edge of our box giving away cheap free kicks.

It was also a bit odd given it was obvious at least 3 were happening by the time he gave that interview.

I think most managers like to have a gripe about how hard they’ve got it. But his complaint was explicitly that he didn’t have the players to bond into the group over pre-season. We could sign 10 players this week and it isn’t going to change that.

It’s the old thing about building a team being like building a plane while it’s in the air, pre-season is the opportunity to do it on the ground.

I really can’t see us signing Lewis. If he’s available and within our budget, you’d think there would be a long queue of Champions
    League teams in for him.

I always think he seems like a bit of a cunt. It's a no from me.
