My pragmatism has deserted me. Utterly gutted. This feels like Cooper Campbell.

I think I was resigned to MGW going to Citeh. Which I could have lived with.
However on the back of the Elanga deal and, of all places, going to those entitled cunts of N17 who skanked their way into the Champion League makes it particularly galling.
Can we pull out of the Elanga deal still?
Hi, I'm Elanga. Tell me how happy PVH was about the Campbell sale.
Ola Aina calling his agent asking how watertight that contract renewal was.
Seems club taken by surprise by MGW (not sure how with the release clause if that's true).
He was all over the kit release video and had to be edited out I read.
Doesn't seem like Elanga would've been done if had known MGW going.
Classic Forest really.
Happy with 17th next year now
Levy would have been in Morgs' agent's ear for weeks to get the deal done this quietly and efficently.
Ultimately both have been sold under the price that I think we could have got for them. Whatever the situation is regarding the reality of a release clause (no mention when shitty were involved), it should never have been that low given what we paid.
Still. That's value. Just not for us. (In regard to these two transfers in isolation, which is not how modern football works)
Did the release clause kick in with two years to go or something?
Otherwise don't get why it was never mentioned before.
Atletico Madrid interested in Murillo apparently.
May as well have a total clear out.
I typed a full response to Mange’s post on an earlier page and then managed to delete it, so I guess this is a good enough replacement..
The release clause would have been agreed when he signed his contract, if we had been relegated in our 1st year back, there would have been no bonus payments to Wolves and a 30million deal, with a sell on fee in the championship of 60 million we’d all have been saying was good business by Forest.
The question you can ask is why we didn’t try to work with his agent on renegotiating that after we stayed up at the end of the 2nd season, but it requires MGW/Agent being willing to agree to a new contract, or extension when no doubt they were already in negotiations with the “big 6” clubs…
I’m sure we didn’t let Spurs know there was such a release fee… doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out who did..
The loss of Elanga & MGW isn’t necessarily a death knell, we just need the recruitment team to continue with their good work of recent seasons, Brighton & Brentford have shown it’s not impossible.
It does seem like the MGW sale has blindsided then which doesn't bode well for a sensible planned recruitment...
Be interested in how many quick unplanned sales Brighton have had.
Mus laying down truth bombs.
Grown up sensible Mus is boring, miss the Muswell moments.
Heads up Loaf: I've woke up today and it's still shit. Drove past a sign for East Bridgford on the way in this morning and resisted the urge to shout cunt out the window.
If our next right winger is the modern equivalent of Glyn Hodges, I might agree with you.
Until then, have a word with yourself!
Worth pointing out that Spurs have the 9th biggest turnover of any club in the world, United 4th. Pretty obvious that finishing 17th and 16th would lead to a massive spending spree - if you supported those clubs, you’d demand it.
