So Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal and United essentially hoovering up all the premier league talent. The big six are establishing themselves at the expense of the next 6-10 clubs. It’s increasingly irritating.

Spurs have just agreed a deal for Kudus and are in for Wissa. They already have Maddison and Kulusevski. MGW will not be their main guy…

Having now sold Elanga, I assume our number for MGW will be huge.

He has cost us £42.5M and talk was of a 15% sell on clause for Wolves, so £75M would probably give us roughly £50M profit for PSR, maybe a little more. As an approximate benchmark.

Id have understood it if he pushed through a move to Man City, guaranteed trophies.

    But Spurs?

With two years left on his contract I hope we tell them to fuck themselves.

Little point in selling Elanga and MGW in the same window. Yes we’d have a fortune to spend but as it’s showing, we can’t attract players that would be as good as them.

Grealish went to Man City for £100m. It must take at least that to even start listening.

Also, Ornstein's report is kinda woolly. Spurs are "set to turn to Gibbs-White"? Sounds to me like someone's agent thinks it's time for a big pay rise.

I think things have changed a bit since then. Transfers have come down a bit, not up. Eze has a release clause of £60m it is thought - and honestly I think he's marginally better.

Occurred to me too. With the other contracts we've been dishing out and him "only" having two years left on his contract he might be trying to wangle a raise here.

RT this with a slightly heavy heart (and not looking forward to telling my son 😵‍💫). Does it look likely? As it stands, yeah, it seems that way … sorry #NFFC fans, hopefully some happier news to come soon. He’s a brilliant player and I can see why Thomas Frank wants him at #THFC

Was my hope but Fab is saying clubs are in talks and MGW is open to it.

There's a release clause according to Percy

"Tottenham are ready to trigger a £60m release clause to sign Forest and England midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White. Talks accelerating between the two clubs #thfc "#nffc

Fucking hell, that's bad. Plus Wolves get a percentage

There's a fuck tonne of assists going out of the door if we let both him and Elanga go.

Ok that's officially ruined my day.

One of the reasons why many people were urging others to enjoy last season while it lasted. It's sadly predictable but when a provincial club over-achieves, it only takes one player to move on for it to wobble like a house of cards.

Gibbs-White is the jewel in the crown and for this 'Brighton' model to work, Forest clearly have to sell at as close to his peak value as possible. He's now getting called up to successive England squads and captains a side who finished seventh last year in the Premier League. Crucially, he also has just two years left on his contract and if he's not looking to sign a new one, Forest can't afford to allow him to run it down and leave for nothing.

A real shame but this is the market we're in now - fodder for the big boys. Trick is to maximise what they have to spend to extract your best players.
