I agree, but wouldn't put Brennan in that category (not sure you were?). I'd be very happy to have him back to give us another option up front. Rotating Brennan with Elanga and Hudson-Odoi would be a huge upgrade on Silva or Sosa for next season.

I wonder if Forest could write off some money on the initial transfer to Spurs - I suspect that could have PSR implications if it's already been accounted for?

The PSR impact would be that we would have to agree a transfer fee - the actual payment terms don't impact on PSR - other than any interest charged on getting the money early. But that did make me remember that I think we financed the Tottenham installments, so any money payable wouldn't be due to us anyway.

I suppose this is better than the @JimShady soap opera about never sleeping again.

We aren't in the champions league yet, it's not the problem some of you seem to think, and we will not be re-signing Brennan given the cost and his uplift in wages. Is our current reserve goalkeeper the very tall brazillian chappy? It feels like we have no goalkeeper cover, rather than a credible number 2, and just looking for a coach/warmer upper.

Zach Abbot might get himself a decent contract, and never play another game for us.

Same rules apply in the Conference League, they're the same for all UEFA comps. And given we are very likely to be playing in some flavour of UEFA comp next season, we do need to start thinking about it.

Given that we already have the association trained players, and we have Yates and Abbot, that will mean they form part of the twenty five man squad....as will two randoms. Which will mean, essentially 21 men as per our preference. Doubt we will be winning the thing, but we should be okay against macabi tel aviv.

I did check and Villa only appear to have had 20 players in their champions league squad. Spurs have 23 in their Europa league squad but both of their backup keepers are "club trained".

I seriously doubt the club will bother to target anyone to fill the club developed quota - it'll be Yates, Abbott and Bott as third choice keeper if we need the space. Maybe they keep Dale Taylor around until Christmas.

Yes, that was my point previously. I wouldn't spend time or money worrying about it, put a couple of Academy kids in the squad to make up the numbers and we're good.

And to Simon's point, this is the actual rule:

So essentially you don't have to have 8 local players, you just can't have more than 17 who aren't which is presumably why Villa and Spurs haven't got the full 25. Although I don't know why you wouldn't add a couple of 19 year olds to make up the numbers.

They both have a significant number of list b players, which is where those 19 year olds will be.

Cunha isn't going to Man Utd because they don't have any money. They were firing part time workers from the canteen to save money. If they don't get European football then they really are screwed. They also want Delap. I wouldn't mind him with the 30 million release clause but competition for him is probably huge.

I would personally prefer an Antoine Semenyo who would fit our winger/hybrid attack perfectly. It would also fuck off Bournmuff greatly which would please me. I also think Tyler Dibbling would be excellent too.

I think two wingers and a forward and a full back or two.

Cunha is a knob but he is a fucking good player but he might fuck off to Arsenal or Saudi Arabia because he seems the type.

If we are going big and cannot get Delap why don't we go mental and go for victor Osimhen as Man Utd also want him but again are skint. As long as they don't win the Europa then they aren't going to be able to sign anyone who costs.

Anyway, Brennan would be lovely for our European campaign but he would cost more than Cunha probably. Maybe we can do a double deal with Djed and Jonno. Maybe give them Sangare..I would replace Sangare with Lewis Miley from Newcastle because he like Anderson is some talent and under used. See also Curtis Jones (who would be expensive)...

But this is all moot until we know where we are going to end up. Keeping the majority of the team would be optimal.

    Chicago: Not getting excited yet.

I love the idea of Brennan and Djed coming back, but more for sentimental reasons than anything else. I would forget Cunha, but would ask Wolves about Ait-Nouri, whose been strong all season. We could do with some full back strength, especially on the left, and he wouldn't break the bank.

Linked with Liverpool and ManU, so may well break the bank (talking north of £50m). I’ve never seen him live up to his reputation but that may just be sample size.

I’d read years ago his dad was a cunt too. Demanding his son was in the first team and took him to a new club at such a young age.

It will be a big window for us, of the names mentioned Delap would fit our style and doesn’t seem like he will be too expensive. But I’d hate us to go after the likes of Bowen who would cost a fortune and have probably peaked already.

Easier said than done but we still need to be picking up quality before their fees and wages become astronomical.

While i agree we shouldn't be signing players past their peak, I do see some personal value in us signing Jamie Vardy. Not to play for us or anything - he can just empty the bins, or maybe sweep the stands after a game.

Out of contract this summer: Moreno - no chance we sign him permanently; Hennessey - will stay on as a coach, again, probably; Boly - 34 in May, don't think we'll give him another year; Toff - didn't realise he was only 29, thanks for everything, now go somewhere and play regularly in the championship; Aina - supposedly has a year's extension but I'd guess the club are trying to sign him up for longer, would be negligence if we let him leave.

Can we keep him on just for vibes as the kids say? Maybe some sort of mental health / mascot / coaching contract.
