Goalkeeper is an interesting one.
It's clear Ody wants out, understandably, given he's gone from playing Champions League to third choice at a struggling side.
Hennessey is reportedly being released, but I would expect him to retire anyway, given he's 37 and especially if the rumours of a serious injury are true.
Leaves Turner and Sels. I still think Turner is the better goalkeeper, but needs to work on his kicking. He made a couple of ricks, the fans turned on him and he lost all his confidence. I'm not convinced Nuno is the right manager to rebuild a player's confidence (compared with SSC for example).
That said, Nuno knows goalkeeping better than me, and he has made Sels his No1.
IMO, Sels is decent, but that's it. He's made some good saves, but plenty of goals conceded where I'd expect him to do better (thought he was slow getting down for Chelsea's first and it's anyone's guess what he was doing for the third (although that was predominantly Toffolo's fault)).
It's a position I'd like us to strengthen, as I think we can do better than Turner and Sels (eg Navas, Ramsdale), but given the cost implications/PSR, I don't think it will be a priority.
We also still need a third-choice keeper as I don't think Bott (still only 19) is ready for that role just yet.
Most teams have a veteran (Carson at Citeh, Heaton at ManU, Adrian at bindippers(, or a youngster with some first-team experience (Whitworth, 20, at Palace, Hein, 22, at Arsenal) for it. A fit Hennessey was perfect for the role, but would need a big pay-cut!
We need to sort out the Defence. Sels and Turner are fine. (although we need extensive Turner kicking...). Although i think Vlad and Turner might be sold because of PSR... Neco and Aina are very good. Montiel and Tavares can sod off. I like Toffs and he is fine (can be upgraded though if anyone is interested in him). I know we are interested in a french fellow (actually Cape Verde), Logan Costa, who is meant to be in high demand (which means we won't get him as Athletico are interested so Simeone will probably get him) and the big bloke who plays for Olympiakos at the back David Carmo.
Although with Benfica bloke being involved in scouting maybe we go full Brazilian or cunty Argy or Uruguayan.
Need to keep MGW really, but another attacking forward who can play with or in his space and of course options at wing (did we actually sign Ribeiro and not loan him?).
Mangala may come back to us if Lyon don't bite, so I do like him. I expect him to be sold though sadly.
It's all very exciting but we need to be more solid whilst looking sexy going forward. Oh if only we were allowed to spend those Bakery billions like Petro Dollar FC.
It's a stacked deck. Maybe we should buy Luton's best Players, Barkley, Obedayathingy and that super speedy full back. Might be cheap.
Tavares is fine going forward as he is an athlete but cannot shoot for toffee and is absolutely dreadful at defending. Neco is a way better player.
Not having the ability to spend money is an unfortunate effect of the Premier leagueship as it only favours the rich clubs (unless you are Spam Utd..).
You are entitled to your opinion as is everyone, but that is the most fucking mental thing I have ever read on here. Turner is the worst goalkeeper I've seen at at Forest since the Barry the kenco kid, and Vlachodimos is a close second. Vlach it is harder to rationalise as he clearly had a defent career before he joined us and maybe he will go on and do the same elsewhere again, but Turner is an athlete pretending to be a goalkeeper and he is and always will be shite. He's fucking 30 bit late for thinking you are going to coach his clown-level decision making and kicking out of him. If he ever moves out of sitting on premier league benches it will be to a much lower quality league. We were absolutely done with those two. Sels is not perfect but unlike them he is up to the level and looks like Shilton in comparison to them. If we had him in goal from the start of the season we'd have at least 5 to 10 more points (unproveable as it's a counterfactual but a view I'm confident in).
If we have to make a big sale (and, as P Taylor pointed out, even if we can clear ffp with little sales, we'll still want to buy), I'd prefer Murillo but I expect it to be MGW. I think Murillo's value would potentially be higher if he can show next season he can defend, while Gibbs-White is probably already at his peak value.
He's listed at 6', so not a short arse but also not a giant. He's athletic, very quick, and intelligent. He's probably more of a Niakhate or Murillo replacement than Boly.
