What happens if we finish 6th, and Arsenal or Villa win the CL and they both finish top 5. I presume there's no way that finishing 6th can get you a CL spot ... Is there ?

Well, Villa are out of the CL. PSG knocked them out last night
Only Spurs or Man Utd could qualify outside the top 5 if they win the Europa League. Unless Arsenal win the CL AND don’t finish in the top 5.

But I still don’t know why you are fretting. The more I watch the CL, the more I am not bothered if we don’t qualify. If I want to watch some of the big European teams or star players, I can always go as a tourist…

If you are on a shitheap, you might as well be on the top of it, as stuck in the middle. It stinks either way, but at the top at least you have a better view. I don't like what it is, but the thing I actually like is long gone. So best get used to the constant whiff of excrement and just hope for a bit of sun.

Not at all. Please go back and look at my posts*. Lots of people were very happy to stay in the Championship. Or get relegated under Cooper. I was definitively not one of them.
However the CL is an entirely separate kettle of fish. We don’t have the squad quality or depth. And the argument that it would be great to see Mbabbe/Bellingham/Kvara etc at the WFCG doesn’t get me too excited. I quite fancy the odd European trip away but happy if that’s to a lesser team.

No I wouldn’t be “annoyed” if qualify this year or next. But then I’m not the one wetting my panties about not qualifying.

I agree our squad will struggle in league and CL. But I also think our squad without Murillo, MGW and maybe others (who I expect to leave if we aren't in CL) is going to struggle in Premier League and EL.
So on balance I'd rather be in the CL where we might be able to add to what we have and build the squad.
