It’s not realty a hindsight thing either, fairly obvious the squad at large wasn’t good enough and the starting 11 would pick up injuries or go off form.

I know it’s a difficult window but as I said before, Villa managed it and are reaping the rewards.

I’m not massively convinced the Megson era is having an effect on how we will finish this season when we’ve had the best shot at CL football we will ever have.

I’m delighted we are still in the top 5. We won’t be for much longer. We might scrape it but this was so far from a performance of a side that wanted to qualify for the CL.
