Maybe he only feels comfortable finishing 7th?

Finishing exactly 7th three times is arguably harder than finishing first...

I’m trying to work out what would irritate me more: Spurs or Manyoo qualifying for the CL?

    Prediction or vision?

Guessing CHO is done for the season. Clearly managing minutes for a few others (Aina, MGW, Elanga, maybe some others?)

Wonder if we'll see more rotation at Selhurst - Sangare looked decent again when he came on, I thought and MGW looked really out of sorts, so maybe could do with a rest.

It's a yes on Sangare for me.

Don't care if we get there too

Reluctantly Spurs for me as Man U finances seem worse and so CL would have bigger impact on their transfer ability. I'm not sure Spurs activity is limited by FFP, just by their own financial targets.

Such a frustrating and disappointing night last night. Whenever Nuno uses Wood and Taiwo together we just look a mess, and we really did look all over the place for the last half hour (and both forwards were really poor as well, despite not getting too much service). A new forward is esential for us next year, regardless of whatever tournament we're in.

Trying to reassure myself that we should finish top 7 and get a European Tour in..

Honestly at the time I'd have done the same thing because we already looked a mess. I was disappointed that once they were both on the pitch we didn't play more long balls straight down the middle. I think it would have been effective. Then when Elanga kept getting the ball wide, despite having two strikers on the pitch, we still didn't seem to have enough players in the box.

Yeah, as soon as Taiwo came on to play with Wood, I assumed we wouldn't score. Think he was just hoping for something to come from a bit of chaos (similar to bringing Jota on at right back again), rather than any real plan.

With hindsight going out of the Cup to Luton might have been preferable. Reckon we'd have had 4 or 5 more points without those extra games?

Whomever wrote about Nuno not trusting Sosa is dead on. If CHO is coming off it makes sense to play another winger to stretch the Bentford defence. (Also it was obvious he had done his hamstring why take so long to take him off???) I like Nico but he is not and never has been a winger. I think Sosa has the tools and he is fast and Physical. We lose our shape and balance. This is a rick in Nuno's thinking. It was obvious when they swtiched their defender over to the other side to defend Elanga. If you are going to play two up front then those boys need service. Taiwo was a walking Hydroplaner last night. I know it was wet but the bloke cannot stay on his feet. I think he needs a few more Guinesses in him to get bigger and more intimidating again. The new look lighter taiwo is bouncing off people not the other way around.

Everything seemed off last night and the goals were championship goals. Hoof, run, cock up. Goal. Premier class finishing mind you. I didn't realise how fast Wissa was though. Both him and Bueno have jets on them. Neco was our best player but he was struggling to contain his mark.

We really need to freshen up the team against Palace. Also Mateta will eat us alive unless we get our focus back. Hopefully the Serbinator takes it out on him. That could be a battle for the ages.

Anyway, shape, power, passion , simplicity. And yes teams are now starting to play our game against us and we have to not panic. Four games to go. All to play for. Our cup final Monday... (yes I am fully aware we have Cheatski to come the last day of the season).

I think I've come down on the side of Spurs qualifying. Will mean they stick with Ange longer and I think the problems there are obvious. Amorim will be at United next season anyway and there's still a chance he could work out if they get a squad that suits him (which will be harder without champions league, although maybe easier without europe).
