As a kid I used to swim at lunchtimes, so when I did I would take a pie for lunch, on the walk back to school. The memory of the taste of that, is probably second only to that of a pint and a chip butty after a game of football.

...but pies are designed to be cold, so don't count.

Pizza is not a meal, it is just fancy toast with a great marketing team.

Pies can be excellent cold, but NZers really don't understand that, and I get some funny looks for preferring a cold crunchy pie to a warm soggy one out of the microwave.

The US has absolutely nothing close to a pie, from my waistline perspective that's probably a good thing, but I wouldn't say no to an occasional pie and a pint.

Once it’s cooked, it doesn’t sink much, and the slight loss in texture is more than matched by the intensity of flavour.

I wasn’t aware that soufflés are only available in Waitrose. Personally, I find that cooking your own is infinitely preferable, and that butter, milk, eggs & cheese can be purchased in Lidl, the Co-Op, the corner shop or any other grocery that Dr Class Warrior cares to name…

Kudos to you for the delicacy of your palate, and willingness to faff about for not much.

Utilizing those ingredients, I'm definitely making scrambled egg and cheese on toast, and loading it with brown sauce.

Currys are great if cooked and then left overnight; they absorb so much flavour after cooking. I'll often cook a huge pot of lamb Dansak in winter months and eat it over several days. Of course, I'll warm it up again. Come to think of it, it doesn't really matter what the season; a big pot of homemade curry is always a good thing.

Our next door neighbour has one. Along with dogs, cats and various rodents including 40 (forty) ferrets.

People who wear slides are weird. People who wear slides with socks in public are wrong 'uns.

I believe Gallagher, Liam is one such 'leading' proponent. Not a wrong un per se, but it does stack up.
