Had a quick look at the Reddit thread, several Villa fans reckon second half we were one of the best teams they've played at Villa Park this season.

I know they'll change the team but they will need to play helluva lot better against PSG.
Seems elanga may have been withdrawn due to injury rather than for tactical reasons
That's a worry. We've had the luxury of being able to play our best 11 for most of the season; injuries are now starting to hurt us. Reinforces the need to strengthen the squad in the summer. Striker and left full-back in particular IMO.
Hoe we feeling about the CL?
I'm concerned. Everyone below us just seems to be picking up and getting stronger just at the right time.
A few still have to play each other. Next few games critical. 7 games. 2 wins. 3 draws? Preferably before Chelsea as last game.
And you need to commit to stop doing match threads.
We have one more 6 pointer left (Chelsea at home). Win the games against the teams we're supposed to beat and have been beating all season, we'll be fine.
Thing is, we've been narrowly beating them - now we've a team that is tired and missing important players.
Everton drew against Arsenal today. They aren't going to roll over next week. It's going to be very tough. Really hope we can get Wood back on the pitch and that the likes of Elanga are ok.
Next man up.
Next man up.
If there’s one slight positive, Everton will come and play with a low block. It’s not going to be the sort of game where Elanga gets 50 yards of grass in front of him to run into. Maybe it’s the best (or at least, least worst) game if he has to miss one.
Three wins from Everton, Brentford, Leicester, Palace, West Ham. Still OK.
How is three wins enough? As things stand if the teams below us win their games in hand we'll be bad weekend away from going 6th. Is there a permutation of the teams below us playing each other?

Newcastle might have some extra games remaining, but that Villa/Brighton/Arsenal away combo towards the end might spell their doom.
Villa are still competing on 3 fronts, so you could expect them to slip at some point.
Even if they do catch us, they won't be able to overcome the goal difference.
4 wins should do the trick for us, and that looks like a realistic target.
You’ve described 8 games being won by the team we don’t want to. Seems unlikely.
Rogers saw Morato sorting out his shin pads for the first goal I've just read he said on Sky.
