I am not fucking trolling.
Sels has done much much better than Turner or Vlachodimos. That's just a fact.
Relative to those two I am a cheerleader for Sels yes.
That doesn't mean I don't think we can't do better or I'm not prepared to recognise when he fucks up or where the evidence begins to mount that he doesn't have the level of consistency we need to be aspiring to. I appreciate some people are not smart enough to hold or to understand a nuanced, balanced view. But the world isn't binary or static.
Tricky your problem is you can't understand people who don't share your view, you take challenge to your view of any kind a personal attack and you never ever are prepared to countenance the possibility that you are wrong. I have been tempted to do a poll to check if I really am universally hated and should leave but I don't even see an option for a poll on here. Anyway whatever.
Back to Sels.
I'm not giving up on him, and, unless his confidence really drops, he should be judged when have the option of doing something about getting someone better. I've always said (well since end of last season) his card is marked and it's clear the club is actively trying to get better in. It's not simple to get better because there are clearly a lot of shit keepers out there, even ones who cost a lot, have played multiple seasons for elite Portuegse teams, are first choice for their national team, and have played in the champions league.
We have no idea about Carlos Miguel. One league cup game where he vegan with a pretty big fuck up but recover and redeemed isn't an evidence base for a proper view. So realistically that means going for Kelleher or someone else in January. I have no idea if Kelleher is a real upgrade. I haven't been bowled over by him for Ireland and he doesn't have a heck of a lot of premier league experience to assess him by.
