FUCK'S SAKE
FUCK'S SAKE
Cuntsticks.
“Oh no, not again.”
The new centre half came off his man, created an overlap on the back post, and then missed the ball.
One momentary wrong decision as the ball came in. We went from in shape, to a shambles while the ball was in the air from the cross.
Then we are rattled instead of them. Then we are being overrun. Then the keeper sets up wrong from a free kick. Then we are behind.
From hero to zero with one momentary wrong decision.
Sadly that goal is going in the pile of evidence to support the argument that we have another chump playing in goal.
We still have a goalkeeper issue.
No other keeper in this league gets beat by a free kick like that.
Sels is fucking shit.
Fuck off you trolling cunt you've been cheerleading for him since he came.
He is, and always has been, bang average.
Where bang average is not what you are looking for.
I'm sure there was some trolling dickwad who insisted that the Greek was the answer to all our prayers. Something about stats.
I don't believe that they were as thick as that would require them to be. It's trolling. We should probably have a vote on putting a stop to it.
I'm still relaxed about the as-it-stands table, to be honest. A return of one point from these two away games would have seen hands snapped off, so the three last week effectively makes it a free hit to an extent.
Still time to effect this game, though. Brighton are certainly decent going forward but their defence is clearly susceptible to pace and movement.
The Sels positioning was very questionable unfortunately but I think we have an opportunity to get something out of this game. Elanga has been non existent and could and should have got onto a few balls.
Brighton are dodgy at the back so a little bit of Taiwo for some chaos would be good. Ward Prowse is a grifter. I like him. Just got to be a bit better with the ball and be a bit more aggressive.
All to play for just got to be a bit more in the faces of Brighton. Mitoma is always a problem. I think closing him down will nullify Bright-one a little bit.
Bit of a come down at half time but we are still in this.
Chicago: Wanting more.
As well as Mitoma having a bit of free rein, I thought Anderson was getting overrun in the middle-left.
Triple subs.
Shocked to see Moreno hooked.
Triple sub. Interesting.
Not sure what formation we have. Elanga replaced by Jota.
Chicago: Going through changes.
I am not fucking trolling.
Sels has done much much better than Turner or Vlachodimos. That's just a fact.
Relative to those two I am a cheerleader for Sels yes.
That doesn't mean I don't think we can't do better or I'm not prepared to recognise when he fucks up or where the evidence begins to mount that he doesn't have the level of consistency we need to be aspiring to. I appreciate some people are not smart enough to hold or to understand a nuanced, balanced view. But the world isn't binary or static.
Tricky your problem is you can't understand people who don't share your view, you take challenge to your view of any kind a personal attack and you never ever are prepared to countenance the possibility that you are wrong. I have been tempted to do a poll to check if I really am universally hated and should leave but I don't even see an option for a poll on here. Anyway whatever.
Back to Sels.
I'm not giving up on him, and, unless his confidence really drops, he should be judged when have the option of doing something about getting someone better. I've always said (well since end of last season) his card is marked and it's clear the club is actively trying to get better in. It's not simple to get better because there are clearly a lot of shit keepers out there, even ones who cost a lot, have played multiple seasons for elite Portuegse teams, are first choice for their national team, and have played in the champions league.
We have no idea about Carlos Miguel. One league cup game where he vegan with a pretty big fuck up but recover and redeemed isn't an evidence base for a proper view. So realistically that means going for Kelleher or someone else in January. I have no idea if Kelleher is a real upgrade. I haven't been bowled over by him for Ireland and he doesn't have a heck of a lot of premier league experience to assess him by.
