Or 8 from 18 if you include Arse, Citeh and Brighton…
Either way W2 D2 L2 is a pretty decent return.

...was trying to look earlier after which game it was that I suggested that I thought that we could get in the region of 8-12 points. I know it was around when we were six/eight points ahead of the relegation zone...which meant that those games were a sort of 'free hit'. It was a tricky run of fixtures...and I know the manure game was in those. Anyway...over the last six game we got nine points, and are now twice that sort of margin ahead of the relegation zone. Only a derby relegation record setting distance from guaranteed safety....and maybe only five points from a realistic safety target.

Anyway, like much of everything I look for these days, I couldn't find it.

NBC coverage was all about Man Utd with Neville and Howard as pundits. Forest weren’t given a mention before the game and at half time they were talking about how Utd were going to win the second half. At the end of the game they were just lamenting bad coverage at set pieces. The studio pundits here didn’t really talk about Forest at all.

Good to hear that at least other sources gave us some kudos. I just find it annoying how everything over here is totally the big clubs and they don’t seem to acknowledge anyone else. Ironically we were one of the biggest and doing well this season and nary a mention.

Anyway, hopefully we can hit the 40 point margin sooner rather than later. Villa and Bumford coming up. Not sure which way it will go but very happy so far.

    Chicago: Regionally different.

Not just there. This is what we bought, when we bought the 'ship. The highest possible level of achievement is to be the extra's in the great story of the globally supported 'main character' clubs. Fuck the pyramid, and the health of traditional english community football, and fuck the ordinary mug punter. What we are seeing is the opportunity to hitch up your trailer to the global glory brands....at a price. Get behind the brands...because it's all about what sells, not what wins...so while we are at it we'd better make sure what sells is also what wins.

I don’t mind that too much. I would be irritated by an endless stream of our ex-players opining on every last aspect of our club, on and off the pitch. Think how boring it was when we had all the (seemingly AI-generated) “random transfer policy” and “this season’s surprising package” stories.

No. Obviously as a dumbed down narrative to appeal to a wider (not real football fan) audience, and to provide a nice solid base for investment with predictable returns it's very much a superior product.

The only real downside is that it's not real football, in spirit or reality. Integrity nowhere near the picture.

Wood breaking our premier league scoring record is worthy of comment and it’s a nice thing for him, especially with him being on a list of two who are top of two clubs lists. But it’s a footnote not the headline - Vardy has 140 odd PL goals for Leicester.

This is exactly the sort of thing that I find completely meaningless. Wood is a good player, who has done well for us. Equivalent to two decent seasons. He deserves praise for that, not because Forest have spent most of the premiership years out of the division.

Bryan Roy was up front for our only other two decent seasons in the Prem, so that tracks.
It has to be measured v top flight or it's meaningless, although getting a better profile for the club in NZ is definitely entertaining for me personally.

Getting around 1 in 2 is a good measure (for a striker). Wood is near that. Only SVC amongst top flight Forest players beats it. So for stats fans, he was the best we've had (and the best I saw week in, week out).
