Scrubs up for the cup! (A match thread)

A few of these new lads look like they can both kick and run. It's a bit disjointed but on an individual level there are some promising things here.

This isn't unfair but it looks like a load of handy players who met in the carpark.

I like Jota Silva, he's going to pick up some cards but defenders are going to know they've been in a game. Maybe we have a new long haired foreign double hard bastard to replace Felipe.

If he is our no.20 you'll be pleased to know I've spent the last 15 minutes clearing out my Filpe and Reid shit out of my shrine and moving his picture in.

He is the #20, yes. Sosa and Moreira also look really lively, and Abbott is very composed.

That doesn't sound very Grealish at all.

Is he the one that was supposed to be EuroGrealish? He doesn't look remotely like it. He's all direct running and physicality.

In Portugal they called him the Portuguese Grealish. Perhaps more for his hair and rolled down socks, but he looks quite promising.

It seemed to be pretty odd at the time, since it was presumably based on scoring goals while having a particular haircut.
Unless I'm mixing this up with someone else.

Right, get Sosa off at half time. I want him fresh and rested to start on Saturday. Guy looks a class act.

This is impressive against a much more experienced premier league first XI. Jota Silva and Sosa look handy. Miguel has recovered well from a shakey start. But the absolute star of the show for me so far has been Eric Moreira. He looks like a fucking playa and he's only 18.

Taiwo has been a bit shit though.

Are we not happy with the keeper? I thought he was OK, not his fault no one followed up for the goal and he made two reasonable saves after that. Couple of misskicks but the kick out of his hands for Sosa was exceptional.
