I don't know who told you that but they were clearly wrong even based on our judgement. We got three for the breach, another three for it being a big breach and then two back for our cooperation/early plea. The clear implication is that if we'd co-operated and pled early on a small breach, it would have been one point.

I see Everton fans are still complaining about 2 points.

The club are appealing it as well.

And their current takeover option also has links to Putin.

But then, does our being sponsored by possible child traffickers make our position worse?

Honestly, the whole thing needs breaking.

    Wut?

There was a big investigative piece by Josimar a while back that raised serious concerns about the legitimacy of our main shirt sponsor, not just us to be fair they are involved in quite a few Premier League and European teams, and their possible links to organised crime.

Obviously not great but a sponsor is several steps removed from the owner. At least Marinakis is clean. Oh.

It's just another part of how being in the Premier League isn't great. Of course, if we were really the rebel city fighting the good fight as we have recently been claiming we might be speaking out against this stuff rather than joining in with it.

I've never really thought that applies to the owner. Not sure there are too many rebel billionaires.

And it's not like we were immune from dodgy sponsors in the championship (Fawaz's Fridge's and the ponzi fake football share market, even if you are comfortable with "normal" bookies.)

Weren't we meant to find out the timetable for our appeal on Monday?

  • Simonhelp_outline

There's various reports from a few weeks ago that hearing was going to be before the 12th. If that's true, we'll probably hear the outcome on the Monday after the Everton game.

Part of me thinks we will more likely get points back should the appeal be heard before the end of the season. (Would they give us 1 point back to relegate Luton?).

But part of me also knows the whole thing is made up on the hoof, so who knows.

The Everton second case was the first time any of the four commissions accepted a mitigation claimed by the club (our 2 points was agreed/proposed by the PL in advance), so maybe that's opened up the possibility of other mitigations being listened to.

Also feel that each commission is trying to add something new to the process which is basically being formed through case law, so it's pretty unlikely this one will just ok our first punishment. Although that could go either way.
