Not trying to join in a pile-on, but is there evidence that Abbott is really good, or are people over-optimistic because he's local? He's looked ok at best in the little I've seen, but there were clear mitigating reasons.

Sliced apart again. But then I don't think we've made any subs and they have (and are possibly further ahead in pre-season?).

I only got home for the 2nd half and haven't been glued to it, but it looks like we've played some nice stuff without really going anywhere because we've given the ball away cheaply and been a bit sloppy and sluggish before tiring.

Sporting's season apparently starts next week so you'd expect them to be well ahead of Forest in terms of fitness. It was relatively even until the hour mark and they've clearly pulled away from us since then.

They're a good side, too, and we've offered very little going forward.

Under the Billez that would be called a statement performance - the statement being 'get yer chequebook out Mr owner'.
Murillo - and Diomande - will improve the defence. Sangare will improve the screen. We will get fitter and sharper and more familiar with the formation.
Though can I express a tiny concern about Aina (playing wing back) and Wood (playing at all)?

Everyone played the full 90? Richards (and John) definitely played this afternoon, so presumably all the subs did. Understandable if we faded in the second half.

He looks like he broke last season. I'm sad.

So am I.
With luck Glasner can resurrect him.
