No not suggesting they were or would, just observing how stratospherically better Luiz is. He's not charging around the pitch the way Anderson does, but he's always in the right place, breaks up play without putting his foot in, looks completely comfortable on the ball no matter how little space he has, constantly finds an outlet, and can hit a ball 30 yards as easily and accurately as he can 5. Tonight's the first time I've seen him in a Forest shirt I think, but he's got that Rolls Royce style about him. I'll reserve judgement until I see him in the slightly more physical and pressured environment of a Premier League match, but he would have been my MOTM tonight were it not for Neco's all action performance.

HMs to CHO for his best performance of the season, Anderson for just being what we've become used to him being every single game, Morgan for looking more like the Morgan we know and love, Ndoye for tirelessly working back and doing his job even if the final ball didn't quite come off, and the Serbinator for being his dominant self again.

It’s hard to overstate what a tough few months MGW has had. He thought he was getting a move and that blew up in every way, so he walks that back and commits himself.. only for the shit to immediately hit the fan with Nuno.. so he lost the manager he thought came with that commitment… then Ange turns up and it’s a fucking disaster. He may even be having a bit of ego adjustment to manage having watched Anderson’s rapid rise internationally. It’s all a lot. It must be lovely to see Dyche and his team arrive and remind him and the team of what they are good at.

This was the first time in ages that I've felt that buzz as he prowls forward. He became a bit ineffectual (along with others) toward the end of the season, but when he's on he's a thriller.
But Luiz is the boss. He runs the team like Gattuso or something. Absolutely steely, and you'd fully expect him to do the dirty if needed, as well as being an absolute top notch player. Wtf is going on at Juve that they don't drop basically anyone to make room for him?

Apparently he stunk at Juve. Sometimes a player just doesn't settle q.v. Guru's trainer guy who went for 30M this summer.

....and that's before you get into the difficult personal matters that he and his partner have been dealing with. His inability to drive at the speed limit, and people keep noticing, also can't help.

It was said that trainer man was more of a Cooper sulk than ability (as he wasn’t consulted about signing him) along with Santos. That McKenna/Worrall partnership still makes me shudder.

    Don't forget the banned dogs.

So that's two successive managers in a funk because players were bought without their say-so.

  • 24 Oct 2025, 8:35 a.m.

How much was he consulted on Murillo, do we think?

  • 24 Oct 2025, 8:42 a.m.

I think in both cases it was more about the disruption caused by a mass influx late in the day, than it was specific individuals.

Just to reinforce on what Russ picked out, that N'Doye looks much improved. And I don't think he has been bad at any point either. Seems much more physically capable and was certainly putting in the graft in the right places without quite getting a killer ball in at their end.

There was also a lovely moment late in the second half where their wide player was trying to run Murillo down the wing and just got casually dismissed. You'll never beat...

I felt like there was a few times we got the ball into what should have been dangerous positions - through Neco, CHO and Ndoye but there was buggerall (or just a heavily marked Jesus) for them to actually try to get the ball to.

Outside the penalties and the disallowed goals, I can remember CHO cutting in and shooting well in the first half and the shot from them when the referee blocked someone from closing down the shot (would have been a massive kick off if Sels hadn't saved). Was there anything else I missed?

Thought that the best I've seen of Savona. Probably more comfortable with Dyche's ask of him.

Really enjoyed that..he proper rag dolled/old manned him...with comedy baby steps run down. Too big, too strong, too quick.

The number of times he blocked a passing lane as well...including the unbelievable moment where he obstructed Anderson looking to spray the ball out to the left.....he had to hold on to it for, one, two, three, beats..and then launched it into the refs obstructing arse while trotting away chuntering 'fucksake'.

The ref really was one of their more effective central midfielders.

I half wondered whether Ando had accidentally done that on purpose - he'd had sod all protection all game.

  • 24 Oct 2025, 1:25 p.m.

He definitely waited for the ref to get out the fuckin' road.

Then thought 'fuckit' and banged it into him to make a point.
