That article does highlight another problem for planning, with the money for league places. That figure is so high that you effectively have to plan on the basis of coming towards the bottom and treat anything higher as a bonus, because it's so easy to rise and fall through midtable in this league.

No sympathy for Leicester though who have had this coming ever since the administration escapade.

The only winner in the whole system of PSR seems to be Nick de Marco.

    Seven likes this.

'Leicester announce plans to take legal action against the Premier League and EFL'/

Also EFL place Leicester under transfer embargo.

I might need to get some popcorn.

Ah yes. Beppe's lesser known brother.

So they're under embargo when they can't sign anyone anyway.

Think today is the deadline for an appeal. Doesn't necessarily mean we'll hear, either way.

I'd still be surprised if we appeal.

Danny Taylor in the Athletic says we are doing. As if Marinakis’s ego would allow us to do anything else.

Stay up by one point, get the two points mitigation removed. Calling it now.

Presume with an appeal, there's the possibility of the original sanction being increased?

That would be wonderfully 'Forest', wouldn't it?

I've recently read, no, it can only go up if the PL appeal. I'm unsure if that is correct, but it doesn't sound silly. Given we left it until the last minute, maybe we were waiting to see if they did?

    Yes, more than a possibility.

If we are doing it, I hope it isn't against advice not to. I definitely wouldn't go there if it was up to me.

I have zero knowledge of such things, but if the appeal is seen as frivolous, I would expect increased punishment.

Yes it will turn on whether the PL cross-appeal, which if we are appealing they may as well (given their position was significantly off the first instance decision) and I expect they can do this in a responsive way (since they can only cross appeal if we appeal)

Once the appeal commission/tribunal are seized if it, it's all up for grabs.

So it seems like a bad idea to me.
